I recently decided to get this game and bought the GOG ultimate edition.

I then downloaded a few modules specifically one known as a dance of rogues.

With all the items installed, I load the game up, select the module, select new character then the game loads about half way in the bar then displays the message; "Neverwinter nights has stopped working."

I've been trying to fix this all morning.

Did you install all other prerequesits under "required projects" (assuming you downloaded it from the new vault)?

Yep.

The thing is, I installed it before on my old laptop and it worked perfectly so I'm certain that it works.

It isn't just a dance of rogues, other custom modules don't seem to work.

With a dance of rogues, when loading the module, it loads all the way till the bar reaches the half location then closes.

With another module I tried(a dance of spies), it almost immediately crashes.

How about the official campaigns?

What type of graphics card?

Try applying 1.69 cumulative patch.
