Is there any way to force the day night cycle of NWN2 (the Original Campaign) to progress? I have arrived at Neverwinter, it is night, shops were closed and locked so I went in the inn, left the inn it was day, opened Sand's shop, went in, then when I left it was night again and the other shop is locked.

Resting outside or indoors doesnt seem to do anything. Do I really just have to sit here for however long it takes? If so how long does it take?

Also is there an option to have your companion's equipped headgear be visible?
In the first campaign, resting doesn't advance the in-game time, but in the expansions it does. For the first campaign you can use a console command to force it to advance. There may be a mod to make it advance automatically when you rest like in the expansions, but I don't know it.

Open the console, and first type "debugmode 1", then type "rs ga_time_advance(8,0,0,0)" or any time you want in the form of hours, minutes, seconds, milliseconds.

There are two settings for NPCs in the toolset -- one for never showing the helms, and another for never showing the rest of the gear. Some characters need that because they have custom-shaped or sized features that would not fit the standard gear, but it seems sometimes designers used that setting just because they wanted the face to always be visible or something, or want the character to have an "iconic" outfit. Unfortunately the first campaign has many copies of the companions, and a copy is saved into your game at some points, so it's not easy to change that setting for them.
