Doing a new playthrough with a wizard and decided to go through both SOU and HOTU; since it's been years I played the original NWN, sometimes I go peek a guide, just to be sure i'm not skipping anything "important".

In some of the guides, they say it's possible to save Adam Blake (= Rescue my family quest in hilltop) "if you're fast enough", or actually resurrect him; does anyone know if this is actually doable ?

So far I tried rushing inside the house, even skipping halflings and everything else on the way, but I always find him dead already, body with description-on-click; I also tried to use a raise dead on the body, but to no avail... I also thought it could be a class thing and got to that point with a cleric, but still nothing.

Anybody can shed some light?

Thanks in advance.

Saving him seems impossible to me. I've tried resurrection on a level 15 cleric, and it said "this object is not resurrectable". Then I started a new game with my high level monk that is blindingly fast, spent as little time talking in the house as possible, then sprinted through town straight to the Blake house, and Adam was still dead. IDK, maybe it's a version thing, I have the Diamond edition from GOG
"During the quest, you’ll enter the Blake home and find a kobold waiting in ambush. If you act quickly, you can save Adam Blake by defeating the kobold before it harms him."

Supposedly.
