I struggled with killing the Scoia'tael here on normal mode but now I'm having a play through in Dark mode. As poor Geralt was running from the Scoia'tael, I ran past the Endrega Queen Shells, which gave me the idea of popping them open to summon the Queen. Then it was simply a matter of luring the Scoia'tael to where she was. She made quick work of them plus they "softened" her up a bit for Geralt to finish her off. Did this for both waves of Scoia'tael assasins. It's great you just watch the fight from a distance. Plus, poetic justice! Luring them to their deaths! Did anyone else do the Malena quest this way?

No,but I use the same tactics in lots of games.Run to the baddies and give middle finger and lead them back to the goodies.Then go and loot the bodies:-)
