Arctic_Wolf: Hi this is a very strange question but I've done so many exhaustive searches but can't find a solution or explanation for this slightly unusual and small request.

See I got and played the Witcher 2 before the Enhanced Edition update and there was a great little thing I liked in Flotsam in that whenever you exited the city it was completely fluid without load screens, in fact that's why I assumed the town had those odd "double gates".

But now post EE update I noticed they now have load screens both outgoing and incoming, is there any way to get this back to the more fluid 'on the fly' load the prior version TW2 had via ini tweaking, modding, or some obscure setting I'm missing?

Thanks!
I don't think there is any inherent load screen. I think if it shows, it means that your machine isn't able to stream the data in the background fast enough. Could it be that you are playing with settings set too high for your machine to handle? I think I used the guide at http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/witcher-2-tweak-guide to tweak my settings.

It is definitely not a setting, one that I know of anyway.

I just replayed it twice to get ready for Witcher 3 and I didn't have any loading screens when exiting and entering the city. Only a very short one about a second for entering the Inn, the game is on a normal HDD, not SSD.

Hmmm. Are you sure every door behaved as when you remembered? I'm playing W2 again right now and I'm in Flotsam. Some doors seem to be non-loading or seamless while others have a small load time.

I'm not sure then. I know that there is a small enclosed area between each gate where two guards stand. Sort of a buffer place or double entrance as protection from the forest area I suppose. Its when I enter these "buffer zones" before the last gate that has a non-loading sequence where I just go right out. I can even follow a npc through it.

However, the last door is a loading one where it fades to black and then loads you onto the other side. Interestingly enough, following an npc through these last doors does not work. The npcs more or less slam the door in your face lol. As it stands and if memory serves, this is how its always been for me. Perhaps there was something different to it prior to a patch I just don't know.
I don't think that would be possible. The Enhanced Edition was more or less built for the Xbox 360 which only had 512MB of memory to play with [total]. So that's probably why there is a loading screen there now.
