Plenty. You could get by with less, but the Corsair TX650 is so well priced in most markets that there is little reason to do so.

Future proofing is a mirage, especially in as fast-moving a line as graphics cards. Get what you need now and in the immediate future; even if you buy the top of the line, something new will have made it obsolete in two years.

The only game so far that has more than 1GB of vram in recommended system requirements is Crysis 2 with DX11 patch and Hi-res textures pack(1.5GB). And tests show that it runs exactly the same on cards with 1 and 2GB of vram. As for the future proofing, the future for PC gaming will most likely be after about 4 years when the new generation of consoles arise. So at the time You would need more than 1GB of vram, You will think about upgrading video card anyway.

Good point, make me feel a little better about just having a 1GB 5870, been thinking about crossfire but my mb cuts the channels down to 8x with 2 cards, so might be better to hold off for a year or two and get a new single-card :)

Cheer up yo, 5870 practically equals 6950, and OCed 5870 equals 6970 (at least differences are very little). Btw theres no difference in crossfire/SLI 8x/8x and 16x/16x at all. Checked that recently on my own rig and only perf. gain was from upgrading CPU and DDRs from 2 to 3.

I have a Corsair 650W PSU (HX650W) and it's extremely well built and quiet too. I bought it for 110 euros a few weeks back (I live in Finland) and I bet it's mighty fine and enough for 6950. I'd need to know your exact build before I could say that for sure tho...

I have a Corsair HX620W, with my build..I have had no issues with the PSU.
Have used 2xATI 4850's in Crossfire and a single 5850 card too(before I got my 6950), no issues with the cards I have used with Corsair.

A 2GB 6950 card is a better buy, than 1 GB versions.

But...If you are incase going for a 1GB card, then you might also get a Nvidia 560Ti (factory over-clocked) card instead of a 1GB 6950. The Nvidia card is smaller in size and some Nvidia partnered games run fast with heavy tessellation.

Also before the buy, I wanna note that ATI/AMD drivers always has some problems..I don't know how Nvidia Drivers are!.. (@Prehto8; how are Nvidia Drivers?)

Never had any problems with Nvidia's drivers...

P.S.Palit's factory-OCed GTX 560 Ti 1GB version is quite short if someone is looking for not so lengthy card...
