So, thanks to some cousins of mine (living in me homeland) I was able to get all the witcher books not in english yet, I'm starting to read them, but reading in spanish is hard for me (which is funny cuz I'm a writer... in english). I understand most of the words, but my comprehension is low, sorta like reading a book while thinking of something else, it goes in one ear and out the other (I dont read out loud). Any advice on reading in a foreign language you speak well but barely read? Anyone else reading the witcher series in another language?
I have, for a long time, toyed with the idea of simply running the damn things through google translate as I have long given up on the rest of the books being published in english. :p

A number of plot points have been pointed out to me by European friends, so I'm not totally lost concerning the Witcher universe, and the two books in English have plenty of background info pertaining to the video games, but boy, I'd love to kick whoever's ass needs kicking to get the rest of the books published.
lol I agree with you all the way XD. I just gave up on waiting for the translations. Does it really take that long to translate a book. And the fact that they tranlated them into engligh in the wrong order. The Last Wish comes Sword of Destiny and then Blood of Elves. Yet they skipped the second book entirely.

That's one of the many reasons I have no faith that they will ever bring us all the books. Really wish another publisher had gained the rights to them.

Hell, I wish there were an actual fan-translation project that actually completes a book. I might just start one myself now that I think of it XD

I don't know why, but fan translations of european books to english seem very rare. I'm into the Japanese scene, where there's a lot of activity on the fan side for novels and light stories, but either the european scene is just really well hidden, or the fan translating community has never picked up any steam there.

Just in case you guys didn't know (you probably already do), the first 2 stories of The Sword of Destiny have been translated by fans and you can find them here: "http://docs8.chomikuj.pl/310983009,0,1,The-Sword-of-Destiny---Andrzej-Sapkowski---A-Shard-of-Ice--English.docx";.

At the bottom of the page there are links for the full .docx files for the 2 first stories in the collection entitled: i) Limits of the Possible (or more accurately "The Limits of Reason") and ii) A Shard of Ice. Follow the links and scroll down to a window that says "Pliki w folderze Dokumenty" and click the .docx files for download.

IMPORTANT: I couldn't get them to work (even with word 2007) unless I changed them to rich text format (I'm not sure why...not my forte). If you don't know how to do this just change the end of the name to ".rtf" instead of ".docx".

Hope this helps! If it does please sign the petition to have The Sword of Destiny released.
Any links to order the books in Spanish because I haven't found many in Amazon.
