I'm confused, maybe it's because it's been over a year since I finished the first game though. This prologue confuses the hell out of me, I do strictly remember giving triss the pimp hand in the original when she lied to me, and thus chose shani to romance. So why am I in bed with her in the prologue to the sequel? Or did I forget too much of the story?

Plotwise speaking, Merigold is much more complex and thus the relationship will be more interesting I guess. The in-game explanation I do not know.

Well hopefully I can give her a second pimp hand in a timely manner. She basically raped me, so it's justified imo. If shani isn't in the sequel than i'll take a fat girl in the swamp before triss! Anyways, i'm going back to playing.

The devs said Shani isn't in The Witcher 2 (on the official witcher boards before they shut them down). So enjoy your swamp chubby. :p

The savegame import thing bothers me more than I appreciate it, actually. While I bedded Triss in TW1, there were some callbacks to other things that aren't true according to my imported savegame. They got most of it right, but it's not consistent. I understand why, of course, it just chips away at the immersion.
