w0bbl3r: Or don't they care?
They seem to care about releasing crappy DLC to show off more Triss flesh, but not to actually make the game work.
When I can play without the display driver constantly crashing every few minutes, I can't walk anywhere, on foot or horseback, without NPC's literally appearing 5ft in front of me.
I just walked through a soldiers camp, and found it deserted. Until I actually walked into it, and then it comes alive as I walk through, NPC's appearing as I pass by, constantly spawning in front of me.
Not only that, but their audio appears with them. One sharpening a sword, I can suddenly hear it, another laughing at me (Probably because he knows I was suckered into buying this broken trash) as I pass.
Then I dismount the horse, turn away, turn back and see my horse has gone and then suddenly appears actually right in my face. I mean I am pretty much TOUCHING the thing, but it's gone and then back again.
But hey, let's release more skins DLC, to make people think we are a caring company releasing "free" stuff. Stuff that was just either pointless, cut for a reason (it's rubbish), or just held back so we could use this strategy to try and avoid the actual issues with the game
sariaen: Simple solution. Stop using GoG Galaxy client for the game. People have tons of problems connected with TW3 and Galaxy combined. Secondly, trying a clean install. That always helps. Patching such a big game is a pian in the arse. You add some code to the pile and it will pretty much break other piles of code. This has nothing to do with skill level. It is how the code works. What is more, patches came in pretty fast. I would say CDPR wanted to please everyone too quickly.
On top of that, I have a weak setup and the game runs like a charm with no pop-ins, no errors, and no bugs whatsoever.
I have never encountered any of those issues and I have been playing this game since release, on all patches, completing the game 3rd time currently. Sorry mate but we do not have different builds.
As for DLC. Cosmetic and model stuff can be added at a later point without much coding effort. Those are pretty small additions so they might have been created on the go after the release. No Data Miner has reported those things being already in the game (not as far my knowledge is concerned). Your argument therefore is invalid.
@Why can't people just admit that this developer wasn't nearly ready for a job this size? They over-reached, by a huge margin, and released a sloppily made piece of shit.@ This is the biggest bullshit I have heard so far. You think only Western developers are entitled to big projects? Please remind me how Skyrim was a shining gem upon release, and how modders constantly fix the game. TW3 is not 10/10 for me. Nonetheless it is a great game.
Check your hardware for issues. Games do not cause driver crashes commonly. As far as my experience is concerned, and I work as tech support, you should check your rig for issues. In majority of cases people have tons of shit going on on their PCs which is causing trouble.
I am using a GTX960 4GB card.
I did try playing without GoG, but it's just the same.
People said not using GoG helped, others said it was steam causing the issue (with the steam version).
Others said rolling back drivers helped them.
Others said UPDATING drivers helped them,
None of these things works for me, or for most people with the problem. I managed to play for about an hour after turning of nvidia streaming (which is running even though you disable it in experience) and nvidia experience in task manager.
But then it crashed again. I launched again hoping to get another hour of play, but it crashed again within 3 minutes, and has done so pretty much every time since then.
To people talking about slating them for releasing "free" content. It's not "free" because we paid for it when we bought the game, since it is content that was removed from the game purely to release it later for "free". A marketing/publicity strategy that 99% of people have fallen for.
I don't slate CDPR for releasing the content, free or otherwise. I slate them for doing it when there are major problems with the game that should be fixed first.
Again, nobody complained too much about the graphics downgrade, yet ubisoft took so much heat for that, many people now refuse to buy from them. I don't really care about the downgrade, it's one of those things. But I said the same when ubisoft did it as well. People applaud CDPR for it, hammer ubi for it. The hypocrisy is incredible.
