Thanks, I had the same issue. Also while in Skellige used a sign stone and was not able to select AXII. Using the magic lamp fixed the issue for me as well.

Had the mouse wheel stop working for signs, and selecting them from the tab menu did not work I was stuck on Aard no matter what. Jumping into water and climbing out resolved it for me. Happened a few times, and just as mysteriously stopped.
