I really can not tell how greatful I am!

Really, now that I have done most anything in Skellige (before Kaer Morhan, the battle), I will be able to slip into a Skellige armor set!

And - best of all - they even added another Skellige side quest. NOW!

Go figure - do they even care about the time frame when they decide when to graciously hand out the premade junk?

Love the game, but this is plain rubbish!

How would they have know you will finish the game so soon.
But seriously, would you rather have paid for it? Start another run and stop whining you overgrown tot.

"Overgrown tot" - you certainly can do better then that?

I mean, if you really can not do without demonstrating your limited vocabularity, show some initiative, maybe read some if possible.
You might find a way to more meaningful/colorful things to say.

Good luck!
Actually those were carefully chosen words, as to not offend you too much and at the same time make a point.

I will let you in a little secret. After this latest franchise entry it seems most of the gaming community here separated into two parts, those that love Witcher and CD Projekt Red, and remain loyal to them no matter what business direction they take, and then there's that other part that complains and will keep complaining no mater what anyone will ever do.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and say that since you bought Witcher 3 you are a fan of it, and maybe even played the other parts.
And maybe you are a bit irritated because the latest patch is taking so long to release, but come on mate, think about it, you are complaining about something so insignificant that it just makes me sad to be in the same fan base.
Out of the hundreds of quests and pieces of armor, does this release really warrant you possibly breaking the heart of any developer that may read this.

And again, as per my original question, would it have been better if this was paid DLC, or never had been released at all?

Isn't that exactly what he's whining about? That this release doesn't make much of a difference to him because he's already past Skellige? Sure it's totally unreasonable to expect CDPR to somehow know and cater to his specific gameplay progress, but that's what he's complaining about, not that the free DLC makes too much of a difference, but that due to his gameplay progress it dosen't make much difference.

So he's complaining about himself? Smart.

No, he's complaining that CDPR doesn't know how far he's personally progressed in the game and based what free DLC content they release on that.

Eh? CDP based free DLC on not knowing a person's progress? How do you figure that?

But getting back to my comment, in your words he's complaining of the fault being his own:
"due to his gameplay progress it dosen't make much difference. "

No, he's complaining about the fault being CDPR's, pay attention. He is upset that CDPR doesn't base the release schedule for their free DLC on his personal gameplay progress. Hence, he is complaining that the released DLC this week is based in an area he's already done with.

Basically, he apparently thinks that CDPR should somehow know how far he is in the game and only release DLC that is useful to him based on that.

Ok, to answer the only valid point contained in your posts: we all have already paid for the DLC's.
During a period of three years there are parts that had been decided to be lef out of the "final" installation routine.
For whatever reason this stuff had been put on hold.
Then marketing comes along and - for obvious reasons - declares those once not used parts as perfect candidate for DLC's, bonus files that might make the average gamer happy.

While this is all nice and dandy they could/should have paid more attention to the timeframe to put out these DLC's.

Temerian armor - ok, had been early in the game, and even the Nilfgardian stuff had been almost timely.
Triss and Yen showing more flesh? Matter of taste, but I would have given them the chance to change from outfit to outfit, back and forth.
Geralt's beard and hair? Only funny because of this drunken barber on Skellige, and I have seen harsh critiques because of that.

More: posting in this forum does NOT require to be a fan boy.

Does not mean that I dislike the game (got them all, W1, W2, W3) and played them at least twice, each.
So I really do not need your "benefit of a doubt", doubt all you will, but - if possible - keep the tone civil.
I refuse to use the dictionary to look after "overgrown tot" and see what it might mean in your local kind of language variete.
You could have started with something like "plouging son of a ...."! and could have earned a laugh by doing so.

It's you that needs to pay attention. You are repeating what I have already said, namely that he's complaining about himself. You are also making awfully bold assumptions. I suggest you drop it.

Except it's blatantly obvious that he's not complaining about himself. He isn't saying "I am such an idiot for progressing this far." He's saying "CDPR are idiots for not catering to the fact that I have progressed this far." Where does he ever admit any fault of his own? Nowhere. He blames everything on CDPR. Hence, he is complaining about CDPR.

Mildly put, what you said is (fit in whatever you like/dislike the most)!

If you read in this forum, you might get aware of the fact that most ppl have advanced very far in the game.
And, for some people it matters what they wear depending on the area they are in.
OK, witcher stuff always works, but where the earlier witchers lacked in outfit for Geralt, W3 now has tons of them.
So if there is a special Skellige set - why not make it part of a quest that can be solved while still on Skellige.
Would not be rocket science to surmise that two weeks after the first start of W3 this would have been the right time to release this kind of armor.
As it is now, I have to go to ?? (perhaps crows perch) and get an armor that might or might not be better then my current arsenal.

Have you ever heard of the word 'inference'? Because he's got to a certain point in the game, and CDP release DLC at that (for him) precise point, he's complaining. He's complaining about CDP, but he's complaining about something that is entirely down to him, not CDP.

Well, so the moral of this story, the final solution must be: whatever you do, do NOT advance playing W3, at least not before CDPR has put out everything/anything in random order!

Can't be serious...
