Is anybody finding it hard to kill the first griffin at the beginning of the game? I am at level 37 and keep getting killed one or two hits from it and I die, even when I use the oils and the stuff that is supposed to help you. This griffin was not that hard to kill in my first play thru. I am playing on the normal difficulty.

Oooo glad to hear NG+ is hard.

Combat checklist:

- rolling a lot
- rolling behind enemy
- using quen
- using tawny owl
- exploiting fire damage, i.e. igni and bombs causing fire damage

Well, i was totaly surprised how easy he was on NG+. I am not boasting, knowing i suck on Death March.

Key for me was, at Level 36, Igni and Sign Intensity at 216% (MC Griffin Set).

Hope this helps a bit.

For me I'm playing NG on death march and I have'nt had any problem killing the griffin i'm lvl 37. But I will say the Bandits do hurt you.

Haven't tried NG+ but get's my blood pumping with all this talk about increased difficulty, hope it's true because, as for others, Death March was quite easy.

to be honest, I didn't have any trouble with the griffin. I started New game + on death march, using an alchemy / combat build with cat school gear.... I was lvl 33 when I killed the griffin I think...

Good build can make Death March very easy. Lynx gear, Bear swords, Quen, right talents and top alchemy = easy fight. You can exploit burning state (Igni, expl. bolts, bombs) , but it's boring.

Thanks everyone for your responses the other thing that happened with NG+ the high level armor I was wearing was marked unusable. It was level 37 and NG+ made it level 41. I thought that was a bit strange.
