Import achievements from other platforms, like Steam.
Without achievement systems like Steam have i refuse to pay 30% more for games on GOG too, the whole reason i accept the greed on Steam is because of features like trading cards and achievements collectibles. You have a mistaken idea if you think i will pay 30% more for a game without it.
I'd rather use SAM, import and bypass broken achievements rather than sit while they get fixed IF ever ...
+1
As an achievement hunter, this is the main reason I can't abandon steam in favor of galaxy yet <- i completely agree with this... sharing achivements would be great.
Steam achievements are not secure, but DRM-free games are not secure, either. I like DRM-free games and I would like the ability to import my achievements permanently, regardless of cheaters.
Aragami:
First part of achievements via Origin (played it on my Access trial years ago)
Second part of achievements via Steam (where I got it in a bundle later on)
Third part via GOG (where I actually bought the game.
Kinda the opposite of Terraria, where I play via Steam on occasion just to see how many endgame achievement will pop just from loading my character/world somewhere that has them.
No GOG Galaxy 2.0 doesn't do this.
GOG Galaxy 2.0 does this ...
There is loads of people who like to complete things fully, I have loads of achievements on more then one game from steam, and not to mention time and stats. I am sure there is loads of people (myself included) who would love to go to gog galaxy but will not be doing it if achievements will be no transfers of achievements.
Loads of people who are complecionists in or have OCD would have invested too much time in them just to have them deleted.
Problem with importating achievements is that in Steam, they can use SAM
sharing achievements (and time clocked?) between steam and gog for starts would really see lot of people using galaxy far more especially for first party (CDP) games
Anything new about that feature?
I would advise against having such a feature. Steam achievements are not secure at all, using Steam Achievement Manager one can unlock any achievements in minutes. It completely defeats the purpose. Doing so would render the GOG achievements meaningless, as they are with Steam.
I'd also like to chime in. This is all it would take for me to switch from steam to gog. I have some several thousand dollars in steam purchases, but I can't platform switch if I can't take a reasonable amount of my data with me.
I was answering to Angelore* because I agree, I disagree with what jarppi say..
Exactly! People stick to Steam mostly because it's their main platform, on which they have all their achievements, so if we could at least import our harshly gained achievements from ex: The Witcher 3 or Dying Light (two best 2015 games!) that would be great! because (e. g : I played for 485 hours now + got 66 achievements & Finished the game 3x ! (1st was the story, 2nd was the story + DLC & 250 quests & 3rd was story, DLC, 335 quests [every quest I could find!] and 100% of the game finished) on Steam for The Witcher 3 and played 200 hours + got 61 achievements & finished the story 3x & DLC [The Following 2x] and 100% of the game [finished every single quest] in Dying Light) I don't want to make this all over again, I have a life! But I believe in CDPR & GOG enough to choose them over Steam because I think they are a lot nicer so, that would be great to be able to at least import our achievements and play time to not start all over again! and if they want, they could just leave a little text somewhere saying ''Imported or something like that'' so people couldn't say they have played like 500 hours on both GOG and Steam OR say they unlocked all these achievements twice! :) (Sorry for my first text, I noticed some weird lines, I don't know why but I apology)
I played 470 hours to The Witcher 3 and got 59 achievements and that's the only reason I hesitate to buy on gog.com (I don't really like Steam anymore since they Vac Banned a guy who have been using my games and Vac Banned me too!) so I was looking for a better plateform and I will probably go to gog.com if they do that!
That would be the best idea ever, if they do this I'll choose Gog > Steam without a doubt
No no no!!! Its too easy to cheat Steam achievements!
As an achievement hunter, this is the main reason I can't abandon steam in favor of galaxy yet. If you guys could implement achievement import of some sort, it would be awesome. (And not really hard, for that matter, it could be easily done by either parsing the website or via api).
