WARN US of games with MISSING or DISABLED FEATURES
GOG GUYS if need some inspiration install "F-Droid" on a android phone. (Its a opensource-app-marketplace). Then scroll through the apps. They show how to do it right: show infobox which features aren't available / limited etc. They solved it very well.
Kinda "in progress" since GOG usually did warn. But not always.
developers and publishers often don't want to bother with porting client features to Galaxy because GOG is a LOT smaller than Steam, thus not financially worthwhile. Personally I only care about important patches and single-player.

www.gog.com/forum/general/suggestions_wanted_for_gog_mix_games_that_treat_gog_customers_as_second_class_citizens/post221 I suggested this way, way, waaaay back when: "Here's a little suggestion I'd like to make to the gog higher-ups: If you're selling games, where the customer gets the short end of the stick when buying from gog (i.e. the devs have explicitly stated that they will no longer update/support their gog builds), please add a little disclaimer to those games' store pages.
For instance, the gog store page for Brütal Legend states: "Multiplayer notice: The DRM free version of Brutal Legend is single-player only. " It's a fair heads up to potential buyers. It's only fair that some of the games sold here (Slender would be a good example) should carry a similar warning label. Something like: "Disclaimer: The DRM free version of this game is no longer supported by the developer and may be missing key features." Sounds harsh, but that's the reality of it." Obviously this is not anywhere near the top of their "To Do"-pile...

Thanks to GOG's recent implementation of a 30 day refund policy, we now have a way to fight back against developers who treat us like second class citizens.
Speaking of which, check out this forum and the curated list of games that do just that:

Games like Nuclear Throne are an example of unfair treatment to GOG customers. Games like it damage the image GOG has built open years of great customer service. Having an option to see the version of the game and how it relates to other storefronts will help GOG and us a lot.
Really good upbringing! Because I´d better have the real game with all the features but just a licence instead of a "real" copy insteam of not knowing that I miss out features I would have never known others enjoy on other Plattforms like Steam.
Like you do it with Doom 3 BFG where you tell that it lacks the multiplayer component due to DRM-reasons.
Oftentimes you just have to read the oftentimes really helpful user-reviews to be told that but you cannot just tell nobody and rely on your users telling other users!
There is so much left out to be desired to see on the detail page of a game in general- why do you think these are so big at steam?
Yes, listing the version of the game you are downloading on the store page is an essential missing feature. Case in point My Time in Portia (at time of this writing) still hasn't gotten the latest 2.0 patch on GOG. The store page should state very clearly that this is the case. Otherwise you are selling an incomplete product to the consumer.
Anyone who buys a game with missing features should ask for a full refund. First gog and if they don't give it to you either paypal (they will side with you in most cases, just say that the product is defective/not as described) or your bank directly (you just file the fraud report wait and that's it) if you paid with paypal and do this first paypal might ban you so ask them first if they refuse ask your bank. And if paypal bans you well they can go fu** themselves they are a shitty company anyway.
Because selling a game with missing features without an obvious warning is fraud. Just as it's fraud if you sell a phone on ebay and send the buyer an empty box. Or a different phone. Or nothing at all.
If you claim to be selling X the buyer should get X. Not Y or Z or whatever.
YES, very good.
Having a visible version history listing for each product would help. As others have pointed out, it's not uncommon to have a game feature newer updates on Steam BUT there's no way of checking if those were added to the GoG release. Sure, you can see some history AFTER you buy a game but this information needs to be available to prospective purchasers as well. Personally, I had to raise a support ticket to ask whether a patch was added to a particular game. I did receive an answer, but this information needs to be on the game's STORE PAGE for everyone to see. I don't like doing refunds (it's not common where I come from) so if I have any doubt at all about something I simply don't bother buying it. You lose a lot of potential sales this way.
While it's not as good as a proper warning on the store pages, this mix keeps a list of those games that are in some way not keeping up with versions elsewhere. www.gog.com/mix/games_that_treat_gog_customers_as_second_class_citizens
With this forum post for discussion of additions/removals: www.gog.com/forum/general/suggestions_wanted_for_gog_mix_games_that_treat_gog_customers_as_second_class_citizens
i agree, i can seen how buying a game with missing features is a pretty *bum* deal, in a way its like not having the internet & getting a steam game on cd (then having to force it to load) or much worse getting a hacked version where someone thought it was a great idea to see how small a game could get before being totally ruined (when you look & the multi-player features are gone from the main menu or there no music/videos/sound etc).
I think if something is missing it should be clearly stated (such as above the -extras line but in bold writing and using a * symbol like with a warning sign.
There really /must/ be clear warnings to consumers when they're being sold an incomplete product. There's even a very clear financial incentive for the GOG team to do this demonstrated with their recent No Man's Sky incident.
I agree that this needs to be mentioned on the store pages. There is a worrying amount of games on GOG that either are feature incomplete (missing multiplayer etc) or don't get patches that have been published on other distribution platforms, either because the devs haven't gotten around to publishing them to GOG or because the devs just stopped caring about any other platform than Steam, or because the devs have "issues" with GOG. In some cases there is a notice about missing multiplayer functions, but such notices would be more useful if they were displayed more prominently than they are today. It is all too easy to miss that notice and buy a "nerfed" game unintentionally.
They should also mention if certain features retain DRM, like multiplayer in some games.
A little text near the purchase button saying what the GOG version don't have that the Steam version have (or vice versa) would be great.
This should also include "multiplayer depends on metaserver binaries which are not included."
There are some games where they remove entire feature sets, like say multiplayer, in these cases I really think they should say so as the same game on Steam may be feature complete. Hence if they have the same price not saying anything is very misleading. There may also be a legal issue involved.
This is a problem, but I don't know if plastering warnings all over the store pages is the best solution. It might be, I don't know.
Agreed, the devs and GoG should inform users of what's missing from games compared to other versions. It's pretty foul that I paid $60 for No Man's Sky and I won't ever have the full experience.
