Battlefield 2142

Battlefield 2142 (2006)

by EA Digital Illusions CE, Electronic Arts
Genres:Shooter
Themes:Action, Science fiction
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:Having placed their previous online shooters in WWII, the Vietnam War, and modern day settings, Battlefield 2142 took place in a future where a new ice age had thrown the world into a panic. The soil not covered by ice can only feed a fraction of the Earth’s population, and players choose to fight for one of two military super powers in an epic battle for survival: The European Union or the newly formed Pan Asian Coalition. Introducing a futuristic art style, science fiction weaponry, and the asymmetric game mode Titan, Battlefield 2142 still has a hardcore following that doesn’t want to leave the future behind.Show more

BF2142 is awesome! It has full mod support, bots, Titan game mode, interesting lore. I've been modding BF2142 for many years and would absolutely love to see it brought back from the dead. Such a shame EA let it die like many other Battlefield titles.

Oh man, BF2142. This game haunts my nightmares. I had the original CD but for some reason I could never manage to get the patches working, so I was not able to play online back in the day. I did however play a lot of the singleplayer with mods and I have a lot of fond memories. Fast forward some years and here comes the revival project. Man, when that was around I caught up to the online and what a game this is. I already loved BF2, and this is that game on crack. Titan mode is truly peak Battlefield and it's a crime that it never really came back (the mode in BF4 isn't really the same). Since by then the people playing were all fans of the game, the teamwork was pretty good and really elevated the arcade but tactical gameplay the series had at that point. They don't really make games like this anymore, it's either balls to the wall action or super tacticool games where you absolutely need to get a good squad to survive. I crave a game like BF2142 again, and while that doesn't come back, I would love for it to be easily accessible again. Maybe we can't get a new master server, but at least people would be able to get the software and join fan made ones more easily if they can get it in an official manner.

The last pinnacle of the original PC Battlefield titles! I would love to see Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2, and Battlefield 2142 all on here as a Battlefield Origins or Classics Collection!

out of all the Battlefields i ever player from Battlefield 1942 to 2042. This one...Battlefield 2142 is by far the best one of them all. Titan Assault Mode was the best experience anyone will ever have in a battlefield game. They tried to recreate it in BF4 with Carrier Assault but it was not the same at all. I still have this and still play it from time to time. This is a must to release on here, regardless of the amount of votes. It is vital this game stays alive and somehow in some way bring servers back.

This is the Battlefield I compare all subsequent Battlefields against, and I have been left wanting. No game has quite scratched the same itch. Whether playing as a squad leader, commander, or general foot solider, the varied maps and vehicles really brought this near-ish future game to life. While not impossible to run in the modern day, it takes a few hoops to jump through and it would be a good game to have a home at GOG.

Much more to say. One of my first online game. Many battle were won, many battle were lost. Over and over again and you are ready to commence. Will it bring more players and more servers? Then I am in.
BF 2142 was a way ahead of its time. Titan mod was a masterpiece. Still playing multiplayer/Project Remaster with bots sometimes, so much nostalgy in this game. Waiting for BF 2143, if EA gonna do this, that might revive BF
Would love to see this game get rereleased especially given OpenSpy provides a drop in replacement for GameSpy servers, this was one of the first FPS games I played and is a shame it's not longer sold.

The most underrated game in the entire Battlefield series. Futuristic settings, with asymmetric sides. Unlockable weapons and gear that didn't require a battle pass, and giant freaking mechs. I spent hours playing this game. Currently it's only playable on a handful of underground servers, it would be great to see it brought back.

2142 is unmatched in futuristic warfare theming. Although this was the worst selling Battlefield title, all players can help the team win by simply running around capturing points or transporting troops to locations and expert players master of their class or vehicle of choice. This game is currently unpurchaseable which also means lack of player discoverability. There are currently a few servers but that causes issues when admins get ahead of themselves so more options of server hosting would be nice. There is a remaster mod too that is in development which could get more attention if given the chance.

Perfect Dark
Perfect DarkPerfect Dark is a remastered release of the first-person shooter video game by the same name. Developed by 4J Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios a decade after the original's 2000 release, the remaster features several technical improvements, including higher resolution textures and models, a higher frame rate, and a multiplayer mode that supports the Xbox Live online service. It was released for the Xbox 360 video game console in March 2010, through the Xbox Live Arcade download service. The story of the game follows Joanna Dark, an agent of the Carrington Institute organization, as she attempts to stop a conspiracy by rival corporation dataDyne. Perfect Dark was under development for nearly a year and its game engine was completely re-written from scratch to support several Xbox 360 features. Therefore, although the game plays exactly the same as the original, the code and renderer is different. The game received generally favorable reviews. Some critics considered the relatively unchanged game to be outdated, but most agreed that the title was a solid revival of a classic.

Perfect Dark
Perfect DarkPerfect Dark is a first-person shooter video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 video game console. It is considered the spiritual successor to Rare's earlier first-person shooter GoldenEye 007, with which it shares many gameplay features. Perfect Dark was first released in North America on 22 May 2000; PAL and NTSC-J releases followed soon afterwards. A separate Game Boy Color game, also titled Perfect Dark, was released in August 2000 as a supplement to the game and allows certain features within the Nintendo 64 game to alternatively be unlocked via a Transfer Pak. The game features a single-player mode consisting of 17 main missions in which the player assumes the role of Carrington Institute agent Joanna Dark as she attempts to stop a conspiracy by rival corporation dataDyne. It also features a range of multiplayer options, including a co-operative mode and traditional deathmatch settings. Technically, it is one of the most advanced games developed for the Nintendo 64, with an optional high resolution graphics mode and Dolby Surround Sound. A Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak is required to access the game's campaign and most of the multiplayer features.

Time Crisis: Project Titan
Time Crisis: Project TitanProject Titan features the same gameplay as the other Time Crisis games. It also retains the signature foot pedal. Players by default are in hiding position. They are shielded from taking fire, but they cannot fire back. In order to begin play, players must step on the pedal and begin firing. Stepping off the pad also allows the player to reload the gun. This game introduces the a new gameplay mechanic that allows the player to move to multiple fixed locations, which are activated by shooting yellow arrows while the player is hiding. This feature was later reused in the arcade version of Time Crisis 4.
