Creature Conflict: The Clan Wars

Creature Conflict: The Clan Wars (2005)

by Mithis Games, 1C/Cenega
Genres:Strategy, Arcade
Themes:Fantasy
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:Creature Conflict is a blend of turn-based tactical and real time action/arcade elements. In this case, however, the battlefields are not 2D landscapes, but completely 3D mini-planets. The main idea is simple: 2-4 teams of animals (controlled by either human players or the computer) take it in turns as they try to destroy the enemy teams. The game is laden with well-know arcade elements (moving platforms, sinking blocks etc.) that further increase the challenge and fun factor of the game.Show more

This game is not really well known and not released in many countrys from what I've found out, however I had this game as a child thanks to a polish magazine which also was the main way back then how my family got games, through magazines. I actually played a looot of rounds against bots in this game in my childhood and had so much fun. I didn't understood much but it was still an interesting game I had fun with. It's like those 3D worms games but the levels or better said, planets are unique in a way that you can actually go around a map and end up at the point you started at, you can even get items which can make you build platforms so you can go above water or lava (yes there is lava and water and i think also toxic swamp water in this game) and like in worms, you could destroy the land around you in a match. There are 4 groups of races with individual characters which have theyre own strenghts and weaknesses, however for 1 of those 4 groups you need to play through the campaign until you fight against them to unlock them and for each race there is 1 character which is unlockable in the campaign when you play the campaign with that race. The thing was, I grew up bilingual and didn't live in poland that's why I wasn't fluent in polish and struggled a lot with understanding what the missions in the campaign were but when I have gotten older at some point and understood more, I actually played through it. It was fun but some levels could last 30 minutes to an hour which was a pain because if you made a mistake somewhere it could mean that you would need to start over the complete level. There is also a Timer in each level which meant, you needed to make up a strategy on how you approach a mission in that limited time frame. Overall I would say this game is really fun to play for those who loved worms games back then because for me, it was the other way around, thanks to this game, I played later worms games because I liked the playstyle so much.
