It's a real shame that this game has never received a re-release from Lego. It's a fun RTS game for younger people who are not familiar with the genre. Being able to traverse the maps in first person adds a sense of adventure, excitement and immersion. Also the Rock Raiders franchise was the most memorable Lego series IMO.

Rock Raiders was a major part of my childhood and enforced a love of mining and resource collection in video games. Ontop of exploring large sprawling caverns with sentient golem monsters. This and several other Lego games are ones I'd love to see made immortal through functioning on newer hardware.
While there IS the free fan Remake, This is still THE GAME that I'd get up at the early hours of the morning to play as a kid. I'd almost give anything to revive that range. Very kid friendly RTS, that should live on in the hearts of generations to come!
Pure nostalgia here. Glad to see other people with the same memories here in the comment section. It was a huge part of my childhood. And indeed it was great with some genious immersive ideas

This was probably one of my favorite Lego games I played the daylights out of when I was a kid, not because of the sets they were based off of but also because it was introduced me to RTS games in the first place.
One of my most played games out of childhood, so burned into my brain that I still randomly will say "Your oxygen supply is running low" and "You found ore!" I still have my old disc, but looking at the hoops that have to be jumped through to get it somewhat running, the thought of getting a remastered version that just works on modern systems would be a dream come true.

I loved playing it during the Windows XP era, I found out they made a copy of the game solely for the XP OS... It seems the normal version had some issues and XP didn't like it. Oh, I guess that means we have two versions floating around...well three if you count the Play Station version...hmm.

This game is a such a rare RTS game that even to this day you wont even really find big budget games or even any indie games today that captured that feeling of really being "in it" that this game and probably CnC Renegade did for me when I was a kid. This game might have been a big reason why I love simulation/resource gathering games I do now.

There's a reason people love this so much that a variety of fan remakes and patches exist for this, it's that good. Not only is it a great use of the lego concept (since you build your base) but it's pretty unique as far as RTS games go, most RTS titles pit you against an equivalent army, this pits you against nature. I can't think of another survival RTS though Dungeon Keeper is clearly an inspiration. Incredible atmosphere and some really unique features.
WHile this is a good endeavor. TO enshrine the original is good. But if you're unaware there is a FREE remake of the game on a modern engine called "Manic Miners". Just remember. A landslide has occured

The game also used motion capture where actor/martial artist Sho Kosugi and his son Kane, were hired as actors for the game's combat moves.

L.A. Noire
L.A. NoireL.A. Noire is a neo-noir detective action-adventure video game developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. It was initially released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms on 17 May 2011; a Microsoft Windows port was later released on 8 November 2011. L.A. Noire is set in Los Angeles in 1947 and challenges the player, controlling a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer, to solve a range of cases across five divisions. Players must investigate crime scenes for clues, follow up leads, and interrogate suspects, and the player's success at these activities will impact how much of each case's story is revealed. The game draws heavily from both the plot and aesthetic elements of film noir—stylistic films made popular in the 1940s and 1950s that share similar visual styles and themes, including crime and moral ambiguity—along with drawing inspiration from real-life crimes for its in-game cases, based upon what was reported by the Los Angeles media in 1947. The game uses a distinctive colour palette, but in homage to film noir it includes the option to play the game in black and white. Various plot elements reference the major themes of detective and mobster stories such as The Naked City, Chinatown, The Untouchables, The Black Dahlia, and L.A. Confidential.

Bravely Default
Bravely DefaultBravely Default follows the story of main character Tiz, a humble shepherd and the lone survivor of a cataclysmic event, as he joins a group of loyal companions on a journey to restore balance to the world. The battle system is what differentiates Bravely Default from other RPGs. Here players can strategically choose when to initiate two complementary commands: Brave and Default. This innovative system encourages players to think carefully about strategy during every enemy encounter. Selecting "Brave" lets players increase the number of actions a character can take in a turn, while "Default" allows players to store actions for later use.
