This game is an amazing RTS of it's time. It has cool SIX CAMPAIGNS, and some of them are interconnected. And soundtrack is out of this world. The story is what i think done really good. It's not the best, agree, but it's definitely unforgettable. All main heroes has thier goals, personality and problems they dealing with. It also tells intresting narrative about how America is evoled and how it came to be. It captures the evolution of America. From people trying to have as much gold, as they could to the settlers who already establish themselves in their new land.
How I know about this game?
I got acquainted with this game, purely by chance, when I was five years old. A neighbor gave us discs with games, among which were discs with "Morrowind", "Hugo" and, of course, "NML". I finished these games very quickly. And sometimes in order not to get bored, I played these games several times. So I went through "No Man's Land" about 15 times. Was I having fun? Yes! Absolutely, every time, as if it was for the first time, and I didn't get bored of it, even now.
It constantly attracts me, and every year I try to replay the game. And after each completion, memories always comes back to me, about those times when one game could not bore me and be interesting in almost everything. I liked the feeling of being a commander and leading an entire army, I just liked the feeling of leadership. It was thanks to "No Man's Land" that I got familiar with such games as "Command & Conquer", "Halo Wars" and many others. For me, strategy is not just a game - it's getting into another universe in which I can become whoever I want and manage everything there the way I want. Isn't that the most important thing in games to captivate and be interested in it?
This game is still runs almost perfectly on current PC. So i think it'll be easy to port this game. I wanna replay this game, as many times as i want, and i think GOG definitely could do that. And i want more people to know about this game.
