The last time The Sims as a series was anything worth playing and resembled a game instead of a DLC platform loosely shaped in the idea of a game. It had an open world, with no loading screens across the entire town. This helped the towns feel more like actual pockets of activity instead of weird disconnected spaces. Your Sims were more realistic and grounded; they could be goofy and cartoonish at times...but it wasn't moodswing city; rather a composite of all factors around them. I enjoyed many hours within the many towns, and even once had a sim bring a townie ghost back to life to court them! Another time I enacted a Plumbot invasion; replacing every townie with a plumbot. It was a game that thanks to things like Create a Style, allowed you to really enthusiastically decorate the entire town how you wanted! Shame about the launcher being built on wooden sticks and Internet Explorer, but the rest of it was great.

Use to play this game all the time when I was younger- many hours of shenanigans. 1 & 2 weren't half bad either. Would love to preserve this game so the EA gods can't take it off us and hide it in a dark corner with 1 & 2. So hard to play modern day without pulling out our old-ish tech :) I don't like Sims 4 as much as 3 but it's okay. I would really love to play it some more but I can't see it being released on Gog as EA loves their bloated EA play app.

I started with sims 1, which I love. But the announcement of the 3 at the time made me dream. And it didn't disappoint, given the possibilities it offered. Unfortunately, this came at the expense of numerous bugs that EA has never corrected to this day... Too ambitious? Perhaps. Even so. I like coming back to the game, making my house or the city the way I want. Having a mummy watching TV (yes, yes^^). Teenagers throwing eggs at houses, a sim coming home from work and discovering infidelity with the neighbor, friendships forming (or not). In short, it's full of possibilities, making it a little masterpiece to be preserved forever in drmfree. EA, if you still have any respect for your fans, please release Sims 1/2/3 on GOG. Maybe even GOG will be better than you at fixing the remaining bugs.

Arc the Lad III
Arc the Lad IIIThe events of this game take place several years after Elk and Arc faced their ultimate enemy in "Arc the Lad II". You control Alec, a teenager whose entire village was destroyed by an unknown evil - an event that was later called "The Great Disaster". He was saved by a mysterious Hunter. Since then, growing peacefully in a village he was brought to, which was like a new home for the survivors of the Great Disaster, Alec dreams about meeting the Hunter again, and becoming a Hunter himself. Together with his best friend Lutz he tries his luck in nearby towns, receiving small Hunter jobs, until the fate crosses the ways of the two young people with a mysterious organization called the Academy. And there their adventure really begins... The gameplay of this third installment of Arc the Lad series is very similar to that of the predecessor. You fight enemies in turn-based battles, and can move freely on the battlefield, positioning your party members the way you like. You can upgrade your weapons by forging them with special materials, and have a variety of techniques and magic spells at your disposal.

Xenosaga I & II
Xenosaga I & IIXenosaga I & II is a combined remake and retelling of Xenosaga Episode 1 and 2 redesigned for the Nintendo DS. The story changes were handled by the creator of the series. The game changes large parts of the storyline in Episode 1 while following the elements established in the original game. This includes adding new characters and changing how some scenarios play out. Changes in Episode 2 were much larger as the main character perspective of the game was switched from Jr. to Shion to match up with Episode 1 and 3. Some characters are removed from the story or have their fates changed or revealed. Some dungeons are removed, edited, or replaced. It also answers some questions that the original did not as you follow a different path through the same overall story. It also changes the combat mechanics of Episode 2 to match Episode 1.

Arc the Lad II
Arc the Lad IIThis direct sequel to "Arc the Lad" continues the unfinished story of the first game, but starts from a totally different perspective. You control a bounty-hunter named Elk, who suffers from amnesia. On his quest for his own true identity he discovers the powers hidden within him, and the destiny of his entire tribe. While pursuing his archenemy, Elk meets up with Arc, the hero of the first game, and then both realize they have been looking to destroy the very same evil. The battle system of "Arc the Lad II" is similar to the one used in its predecessor: in battles you can move your characters on the battle field, and your proximity to the enemies plays an important role. You cause and take different amounts of damage depending on your position on the battle field. Unlike the first game, this one is a full-fledged adventure/RPG, without the "strategy" feel of the predecessor. You move through the game world on your own, visiting towns and exploring dungeons.

Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst
Phantasy Star Online: Blue BurstPhantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, a port of the Xbox version, was released for Microsoft Windows in 2004 through digital distribution, featuring both Episode I and Episode II, and adding a new Episode IV, NPCs, quests, team system, and server-side saving system. The Phantasy Star Online titles are a sub-series of Sega's Phantasy Star series of games that began in 1987. With the exception of Episode III, the PSO games themselves are hack and slash role-playing games where the player slays monsters, levels up, buys new equipment, etc. The online Phantasy Stars differ from the previous games of the series by offering a real-time – rather than turn-based – approach to combat, seamlessly integrating this with exploration and plot developments.
