This game brought a lot of joy for me when not a lot else could, and since the PC version was only on games for windows live there is no way really to play it anymore without buying an old xbox. having a way to play it again would be truly incredible and might bring new life to a series that deserves a second chance.
This game and its Sequel was way ahead of its time. In a world where Animal Crossing and Story of Seasons dominated Viva Pinata played a different tune. Simplicity of design with a robust system to lure pinatas into your garden. And to this day it's as beautiful to look at as anything in the genre. My wife had a blast with it and cant think of another game with as much heart as this one.

I borrowed this game from my cousin on the 360 and it left it's mark on me. I found out soon after that it was also released on PC. The mix of Games For Windows Live and no storefronts selling it for years leaves a hole where this game used to be. With the rise of comfy games after Stardew Valley's release. It really leaves me wanting that this game is essentially unplayable without pirating and jumping through hoops to sidestep GFWL. It has always been a wish of mine that Viva Pinata and Trouble In Paradise became playable on PC on modern systems.
I loved this game as a kid and always was fond of managing my garden of Pinatas. However, even with it at one point being on that failed Windows game thingy. I feel Microsoft may play ball with it and may allow people to experience this gem of a title.

I remember playing this game when I was 5 years old and having a blast figuring out how to make more pinata's appear and what I needed to meet the residency requirements. The music is beautiful and is a testament to Rare's sound team. I hope more people will truly be able to experience this game and give it the time it deserves, revitalizing the franchise as a whole.

I remember the first time I played Viva Piñata, it was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. I was drawn into this colorful, whimsical world where I could create and care for my own garden, filled with adorable piñatas that would come to life and make it their home. The beauty of it wasn’t just in the vibrant world; it was the sense of responsibility I felt as I nurtured each garden, balancing the needs of the environment and the creatures living there. What made the game so special for me was how it encouraged creativity and strategy in such a relaxing, non-violent way. I spent hours tending to my garden, and every time a new piñata showed up or a rare one appeared, it felt like a small victory. Viva Piñata wasn’t just a game—it was a joyful escape that left a lasting impression on me and showed me how a game could be as nurturing and satisfying as it was fun.
I always loved the family members and Jardinero's story. People always talk about Banjo Kazooie and DK64 when talking about Grant Kirkhope's music but this might genuinely be some of his best work. I find Viva Piñata's ost to be nothing short of magical. Having this more readily available on pc would be wonderful and I'm pretty excited for the community reverse engineering project

My favourite childhood game. I remember I would pretend to be sick to stay home from school, just so I could play viva pinata. Such a creative game, such strong character designs, music, replayability. And a wonderful sense of whimsy to top it off. It would mean everything to me to be able to play this game again, and for it to be more accessible for others to discover!
I played both this game and it’s sequel for years until i lost the discs, which was one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life, because i no longer knew how to get ahold of it. I played it at my grandparent’s house, on my grandpa’s xbox, and when he got me and my sister our own, i played it there too. It was my favorite game for years, even above minecraft, because of how colorful it was. The character designs are incredible, vibrant, the story, as simple as it is, is incredibly compelling. I miss this game every day.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
