So I have the game fully installed from CD's going from BG1 to BG2 as a single game via the patch. My question, if anyone knows, if I should I go ahead and buy the BG II Enhanced game here and download it, will I be able to load my current save game files?

I've made a lot of progress that I wouldn't really want to lose. :(
If you mean the Baldur's Gate Trilogy Mod, the answer is probably NO. I just tried it and while BGE saw the same, it crashed when I tried to load it.

The reason maybe because of the wide-screen mod. As you may already know, different resolutions of the mod is not compatible even with itself.

What level and at which point of the game are you? I personally prefer BGT over BGEEs. But ofcourse can't deny the appealing QOL improvements of the EEs. You can always finish BG1 in BGT and then create the same character on BG2:EE.

Yeah, that's kind of what I expected. My character is pretty solid and I have a good team with me, and I've completed probably 70% of the game, I can try to recreate them for BGEE, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to backtrack that far. So be it.

Or I could just finish it from here with my existing install (from the original disks plus a ton of mods and extras added in for good measure!). I was thinking of selling the whole disk set as a kind of nostalgia item, but hoped to be able to download BGEE and keed going from where I am now. But thanks for answering my question. I may try BGEE and a saved game to see what happens anyway. Worst case: I'm out $20, and have to complete the game with the current install anyway.
