Was looking for some old games to play n decided to tackle this baldurs gate series unmodded... I somehow got cloak wood lodge to open up in chapter 3 and i snagged up Coran. But i can't gain access to the next cloakwood areas even by exiting west in the lodge. Im assuming thats cuz i need to be in chapter 4 also to gain further access? I dont think theres anyway ima be able to complete chapter 3 and make it through the cloakwood areas in the alotted time b4 coran bails out... Is there anyway to bring him back or shuld i seek other options at this point? and if so is there even a decent replacement for him? Im playing true neutral and keeping my rep between 3-7 so any alignment will do fine. Current party is ME as kensai, Jaheira, Edwin, Kagain, Viconia, and Coran.

I'm not sure how you got cloakwood lodge map opened if you're playing unmodded, unless you edited your saved game. Anyway, once you pick Coran up you have 8 days before he leaves. Now then, if you're in chapter 3 you only have to clear the bandit camp to advance to chapter 4, when you can go hunt wyverns. Just don't sleep after every battle -- count the days!

Well maybe not unmodded... idk even lol.. i just snagged up a bg package has all the bg expansions and tob but doesnt have any of the EE or tutu features or npcs.

It sounds like you have the tweak pack installed. That has an option to open up the first section of Cloakwood.

As I said, clear the bandit camp, go hunt wyverns in Cloakwood and you'll be fine, provided you kill one (any wyvern head will do) within 8 days of picking Coran up.
