osm: boring thread so I just thought it needs a little lighting up... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGIFublvDes
Boring? Whatever......that video was boring..... Gandomyr: I'm 20 hours into the game. I encountered only one quest that I couldn't complete. Game is in a pretty polished state. It takes a while to get used to it. It is very well written. Personally, I love it. However, I wouldn't expect anyone to spend 60 euro just because I said so. I didn't play any Larian games in the past, but I played other RPGs and I played and finished the original Baldur's Gate games.
Some people were worried that, being made by Larian, this game will have a "too happy" tone to it. Or that they may just go the oposite site and make it dark and gritty just because it's cool and for no particular reason tied to the story. I think it is not the case. Larian nailed it. I thought it would be very hard to make a proper Baldur's Gate game, with atmosphere, exploration, characters, and everything that else about the game world that made the Baldur's Gate games so good. I think they actually succeed to reach that high bar.
However, I may be thinking it this way because I didn't really expect it of them. It may not seem so in the beginning, when you're surrounded by stuff way too powerful for level 1 characters, but those thing are there just to set the story. To those that expected a start similar to BG1, where you start in Candlekeep and you're doing chores and killing rats and curing cows and whatnot... this is not exactly it. You're not going to fight things that are over your level, combat encounters are the usual for a low level party, but the intro is somewhat spectacular. I understand if some people who loved BG1 would not like that. I'm ok with it, but I'm just saying, in case you buy it, to know what to expect of it.
Gandomyr: It's a song. :D
Cool! And what does a song have to do with what I asked? Some people were worried that, being made by Larian, this game will have a "too happy" tone to it.
