Some love for us RTS fans and it looks great! GPU-melting, but great. Hopefully it's not a repeat of the AoE3 scenario: looked phenomenal, but the campaign was extremely lackluster.
Looks like a remastered version of 3 but more colorful, I will love to see actual gameplay of this. but what I would really love to see is Age of Mythology 2.
Unfortunately nothing interesting in this "gameplay" trailer. Visual and graphics not impressive and colors reminds The Settlers.
Oh damn, now I need to hurry up and buy AOE3.

Ack, Steam...

Unfortunately from what I can remember the AoE3 campaign doesn't live up to the high historic standard set by AoE2, the latter of which you seem to be intimately familiar with by now :)
That is except for most of the north america pioneer era levels, but those are to the end of the game and sadly there aren't that many of them.
Keep in mind it's quite possible this will be Windows 10 only.

Then again, you may be able to play it day 1 on Gamepass for cheap

I think I'll wait to see actual gameplay footage. One of my pet hates are "trailers" that refuse to show the UI or actual gameplay at any point. Designed for keyb & mouse, or heavily consolized? Denuvo / Arkan "anti tamper"? MS Store exclusive? So many questions that I don't doubt MS won't answer until as late as possible if they're the wrong answers.

As for AoE3, I always found it both over-simple and over-complex at the same time. Eg, I don't think the "cards" or 3D that it introduced was remotely worth sacrificing randomly generated maps for.

Unless I'm missing something it seems that it's only for PC. I don't see any mention of other platforms. That was my biggest worry initially, as an RTS designed to be playable with a controller is handicapped from the get-go.

Don't know about MS store exclusive, but I'm guessing at least win10 exclusive and unfortunately no chance of coming to gog.

I guess I could tolerate whatever those campaigns throw at me (now that my ass has been thoroughly beaten, flayed, disfigured, scorched, and wololo'ed to pieces). I remember playing the demo maps back in 2013, so chances are I'd need a refresher on all the newer game mechanics.
Back to the Middle Ages, huh? I wasn't expecting that. I am actually excited by this. AoE was my main gaming series in my teen years. I will worry and despair about the DRM later.

Hear, hear! AoM was excellent and I'd love to play a sequel including new cultures.
I was also hugely dissappointed in AoE3.

I believe they plan to bring the series to Xbox in future, hate to tell you. It is the main reason they introduced mouse and keyboard for Xbox after all- greater diversity of games over Sony. Games like Surviving Mars and other Paradox strategy game are already using mouse on Xbox.
Back to the medieval again. Great!!!

Hopefully, buildings are still durable and formidable. One of the main reasons why Age of Empires 2 is the best RTS game to me is the fact that you can't just make a huge army and attack move the enemy base (like in pretty much any other RTS game. You actually have to siege castles, towers and fortifications. Remembering the buildings in Age of Mythology and how they were made of wet tissue paper still gives me the creeps.

As long as it's specifically intended for a keyboard and mouse peripheral then I suppose that's ok. It's not so much the console hardware as it is the restrictive controller itself that is the issue.
I guess I'm in the minority of really enjoying AoE3
