Thank you, great film, lot of interesting things and nods to witcher lore, they just need to realise this in higher quality, i want to appreciate all the details went in to, creating this long awaited film!..
I wonder how long it will be before they get a cease-and-desist order and/or a DMCA takedown notice from Netflix.

Download it before it's too late :)
Finally, I watched the movie. Alzur's Legacy is one of the most impressive fan-made projects, I've ever seen.

Creators put a lot of effort in their work, it is looking professional and high-quality.

Everything is filmed at real nature, historical castles and ruins. Locations and costumes look authentic, interiors are prepared with high attention to details.

Tavern and market are very lively and realistic. Alchemists' labs are believable as well.

There are a lot of references to the books. And the atmosphere resembles the first Witcher game.

I was very glad to see Zbigniew Zamachowski, who played Jaskier in Wiedzmin ( 2002 ) tv series, back in his role. Charming, as always, and true to his character after all these years.

Andrzej Strzelecki made a remarkable job portraying soltys of the village. Unfortunately, he passed away last year. :(

Soundtrack is good, but lacks of variety in terms of used instruments and the overall mood. I would like to hear more medieval folk music and bards' ballads.

The story could have been more unique. It is predictable at times. And I think, there are not enough dialogues between main characters.

I recommend to watch Alzur's Legacy to all fans of the Witcher books, the first Witcher game and old Polish tv series. And to everyone, who are interested in high-quality fan-creation projects. ;)

P.S. You can download the official 9 Gb version ( source ), instead of watching a compressed movie on YouTube.
May be a good movie, but the German subtitles are...suboptimal, to put it kindly.
And unfortunately - my Polish is almost non-existent.

Exactly, that was the big letdown for me. I agree with you about all the ways in which the movie is indeed impressive, but that only made the lackluster story feel all the more disappointing. I kinda wish they put all that effort into filming pre-existing story (something from the books that wasn't adapted as part of the polish tv show for example, or maybe one of the side-stories from the game?) and used Zamachowski in bookend scenes, as old Jaskier telling the story.

That could indeed be interesting.) But the authors stated in 2019 QnA session, they wanted to create a new story with new characters instead.

The Witcher setting is well-developed, has very rich history and geography. Only small parts of them are covered by games and video products.

A lot of interesting stories can be told in more distant past, when Kaer Morhen lived through it's best years. Or in the times just before the events of the saga, when there were many kingdoms on the banks of Jaruga river and in the mountains to the south of it. The most northern realms, Kovir and Poviss, are not presented enough even in the books.

Many more examples can be thought of, if they would find a good writer to create an original plot and tell it in the right way. And I am sure, there are talented writers in the fan community.

By the way, it can be applied to any new possible games in the world of Witcher. There is no need to use the same characters and time period again, when setting provides so many opportunities to design another interesting and unique stories.)

It would be awesome. :) However, their budget was limited, and Zbigniew Zamachowski probably had some other projects at the time of the filming.

In addition, Jaskier should not be the only good bard in the entire world.)
