Make sure your firewall and antivirus software are either properly configured to allow it to work through them or that they are disabled. That is the most common reason for "I can't get it to work at all". Otherwise, contact GOG support if you still can't get it working.

It's running fine...the only problem your encounter while downloading is that if you have a poor internet connection or anything else like firewal, antivirus and etc...
