SCAwJos: Perhaps they're saving the re-releases of original SH2 and SH3 for October, as already suggested.
Seeing that with most of the re-releases (Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, etc) GOG can't just slap on unofficial fan-made remaster mods/patches and call it a day they might just still be working on their own enhancements and fixes to ensure Silent Hill 2's 2003 PC port's compatibility with Win10 and above.
Like they did with Silent Hill 4.

Also considering that SH4's missing hauntings were just recently reimplemented (almost 5 years after its initial re-release on GOG in 2020) and assuming that a GOG re-release of SH2 Classic is indeed in the pipeline, GOG might just want to make absolutely sure that it's re-released as complete, compatible and fixed up as possible from the start.

Shocker93: Are Silent Hill 2 and 3 destined to never be re-released?

I personally don't care about Silent Hill 2 in general. I'm not saying that it's a bad game, it just doesn't interests me. Silent Hill 3 is the one that I really want.

Well, you asked about 2 and 3... shrug
Technical issues aside, what also hampered the PS3/Xbox 360 remaster was the voice acting. The actor that played James Sunderland in the original Silent Hill 2 wanted residuals if Konami were to reuse his voice in the remaster. While Konami eventually reached a deal to allow the original voice cast in Silent Hill 2, there was no such luck for Silent Hill 3, which only had a completely new voice cast. If the PC versions of both games were to be rereleased, this issue would have to be tackled, alongside any technical ones.

What the actual flap, another one who likes Silent Hill 3 more than 2?!

Is this a bad time to mention I too love Silent Hill 3?

you shuold feel ashamed of these words, literally nobody likes 3 more than 2
Konami needs to give residuals to original Silent Hill 3, work something out. I really want to play the PC version as it is the best version even if the PS2 version was likely the best they could get out of the PS2.

I'd go sit in the corner of shame but I am too busy trying to find the soundtracks for the rest of the Silent Hill series.
