ok I cannot get baldur's gate 2 multiplayer to work.....I make 6 chracters for a full party and then when I try to start a new multiplayer game it just hangs.....the new game button is pressed but nothing happens.....????

You mean you are using the multiplayer option to create all the chracters to play a single player? Some first off tips, provide some system specs, i.e. What os? If windows do not install to any windows folder, put in something like c:/mygames. Next does the game start normally, i.e. From single player? Thirdly do you have any mods installed or patches etc. Is this the original or beamdog expensive version? Are you running with galaxy or stand alone, try running stand alone. If it still continues after those I can install it and try, but it definitely worked on win7 original release no galaxy only a year or so ago.

Well, just tried this on win10 and you are right, if you try to run a serial game then it just hangs. So here is how I got it working:
Click multiplayer
Click on top left button and select tcp/ip
Click ok
Click create
Enter a session name and player name
Then click new game
It took a few seconds then the loading screen appeared and then went through to create characters screen.
