gandalfnho: BorderZone looks interesting. Wishlisted for now.

Enebias: How's Borderzone? It looks nice but it's also so incredibly cheap one has to wonder.

XYCat: is the borderzone game good?
Depends on whether this version has some additional fixes. The game itself is known to be buggy to the point of being unplayable, quite literally, with game breaking bugs never fixed and little proof that anybody actually made it past.
Was free on Indiegala before, grabbed it then and gave it a try, and while I barely got out of the starting location and therefore can't say anything about the reported game breaking bugs, can say that it's terribly janky, not in any good way however much one may enjoy the type otherwise.
And quite a pity, because the idea does indeed seem interesting, and janky games may well be awesome and become classics, as anyone playing for example Gothic 1 and 2 knows. But... not this one, not from anything I saw at least.

ciemnogrodzianin: Hey, what about Dawn of Magic 1??
avatar
Thunker: Cool but where is Dawn of Magic 1 ?
avatar
Loger13: Nice! But why without Dawn of Magic (1) ?
May be another case of rights hell, recall discussions about it in the past and people pointing out that DoM2 is available on some stores but the first can't be found anywhere.

Good job on El Matador GOG, you guys are getting better. It's working prefect for me and better than other versions.

wildapple-SI: I found some gameplay of Dawn of Magic 2:

This games looks interesting.

It reminds me a bit of Avencast: Rise of the Mage, but maybe I am totally wrong.

Huh? Looks mostly like a run-off-the-mill Diablo clone to me. If I had to draw parallels, I'd say Space Hack.

And if I'm seeing it correctly, that's gameplay of the first game, not the 2nd.

There's a review of DoM2 that's still up: http://www.girlgamersuk.com/2009/10/dawn-of-magic-2-review
And a fully archived one: http://web.archive.org/web/20091126164855/www.games32.com/Dawn-of-Magic-2-(PC)-Reviews/p2000_articleid/1171
And just page 1 of 2 archived of another: http://web.archive.org/web/20091214173927/aperturegames.com/review.php?id=dawn-of-magic-2
Also keep in mind that the US name was Time of Shadows, if looking for more.

It still give them something to moan about. Which appears to be what they want...
Where is GRAVEN then?

It's like a mashup of hexen and heretic.

It's actually pretty good policy to release a bunch of low-quality games around the time of big releases. The attention's not on them, they're unlikely to add anything significant to the infrastructure and support stress compared to what those big titles bring, but they're still there for those who're interested, and in fact the extra traffic from the big releases may get more of those who would be interested to spot them when otherwise they wouldn't have.

Besides the big-name releases others have mentioned, Dawn Of Magic 2, El Matador, and RC Cars all somehow got over 300 votes each so - shitty or not entirely - they're wanted by some people at least. Granted there are games that have more wishes and seem (on the surface) like they should be pretty easy to bring, but I guess GOG figured these would be profitable too.

I'm seeing 295 for RC Cars :p
And are you referring by other games in general or others from the 1C/Fulqrum catalog? Because they seem to have no problems selling DRM-free, and these games have been available elsewhere and even given away for free before, so it was probably more a question of GOG accepting them, either as a relaxation of their curation or maybe on request from the publisher in exchange for also allowing some bigger titles or better deals. Just guesses, of course...

Yes, we often have to teach new employees how calendars work at my workplace too. ;)

whoops :p ;)

I was talking about games in general, especially some highly-voted indies that aren't here. I guess it's possible some devs lost interest when GOG initially rejected them, and some indies like Gunpoint seem to have sold very well on Steam so no need for the money from a GOG release.

GOG.com: RC Cars
Just wanted to say I really like the texture work of RC Cars. Gameplay seems decent overall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyuFIM_n7bM
