So I'm trying to look into more of the retro side of PC gaming nowadays. I do not mind more "modern" titles, what I do not like are titles that are like click and point adventures. I'm more into games like doom, diablo, nox ect, but there are a few genre nitpicks I have. I generally don't really like RTS games too much, mainly because they stress me out. I'm willing to try them if there are excellent ones available, I was considering a game like spellforce or rage of mages (The RTS/RPG hybrid type of games). I do enjoy a good turn based game as well, so don't be afraid to recommend those.

Sorry if I seem so forthcoming and bold asking recommendations, but I just have NO idea where to start honestly.
It's a pity you don't like point & click adventures, a lot of great classic games in that genre.

If you like turn based strategies, Heroes of Might & Magic is the cornerstone of the genre, but also try Disciples and Disciples 2. Those are absolutely brilliant, great mood, good story, easy to learn.

If you're willing to give a very old-school RPG a shot, try Lands of Lore. I found it be very accesible despite its age (the first one, the second kinda sucked).
Okay, well I would say start by googling "Best games of all time" or "Best retro videogames". If you like a particular timeframe type in "Games [insert year]" That would mostly recommend the most well regarded ones to start with.
For first person shooter games, you can look up GmanLives on Youtube. He's made videos talking about a lot of those games (old and new).

Personally, I like mindless action games that don't require any thought, so I can zone out and relax.

I play Doom with a source port and mods, specifically: Project Brutality (which is based on Brutal Doom). It's Doom with mouse look, controller support, lighting effects, lots of enemies, tons of blood, and more menu options than you'll know what to do with. You have to find and download Project Brutality and Brutal Doom elsewhere (not on gog). They're independent of one another. You install one or the other, not both. You need the original wad files from Doom and Doom II to play those games (I think you need the doom 2 wad even if you only want to play Doom I). I also installed high res textures, I think. It can be a pain to figure it all out and get everything working, but it really cranks up the action of Doom and makes it feel fresh again.

Speaking of Blood, the game Blood is pretty good. I play the newly released version, Blood: Fresh Supply. I like to customize the difficulty and make myself really strong and the enemies really weak, but then max out their numbers so it's a frag fest.

I play Broforce a lot. It's a 2d side scrolling shooter.

I've played through Bastion several times (I guess it's an action RPG, but the RPG aspects are basically choosing how to upgrade weapons. The rest is action).

Red Faction Armageddon. It's more "modern" and a lot of people don't like that's it linear (unlike the Red Faction game that came before it), but I've played through it several times and enjoy it.

To save some money, you might want to wait until those games are on sale to buy them, if any of them interest you.
Since you said Diablo and Nox, going with ARPGs, what about Divine Divinity?
As for turn-based, maybe the original Age of Wonders trilogy, 1, 2 and Shadow Magic (though I'd say this last one broke some things that shouldn't have been touched).

Edit: Or, if you want a list of older games to check, there was this one making the rounds...

Some of the best turn-based strategy games on GOG are Sid Meier's Colonization, Alpha Centauri, Master of Magic and Master of Orion, all of them from the 90s. My all-time favorite TBS is Civilization IV, whose last expansion was released this day 14 years ago, so whether it's retro or not depends on your personal criteria.

I was actually considering King's Bounty. That and Heroes of Might and Magic. Thanks for your recommendations :)

I consider the PS3/360 retro if that gives you any indication. Many do not, but they launched in 2005....So, yeah...

That's why I put in my post "I don't mind even more modern titles" because people have seem to lost the plot when it comes to "what's considered retro".... Don't even get me started on the retro gaming reddit lmao

Retrogaming, also known as classic gaming and old school gaming, is the playing and/or collecting of older (or older versions of) personal computers, consoles, and/or video games (generally arcade), in contemporary times. Usually, retrogaming is based upon systems that are obsolete or discontinued.
Try Crusader: No Remorse. It is one of the best action packed games from the 90ies. Note that you need a full keyboard to properly play it (in case you are playing on a notebook).
Maybe your not into all to modern but i do like to point these out

XCOM ( 2013 ) complete package now going for 6 euro's ( this is a steal ! )
https://www.gog.com/game/xcom_enemy_unknown_complete_pack

Warhammer 40k Armageddon

a nice oldskool turn baser in the spirits of Panzer Corp. Assemble your army and beat the orcs off Armageddon Prime
8 euro's!
https://www.gog.com/game/warhammer_40000_armageddon

Heroes of Might and Magic V

one of the best heroes games ever made! Now only 5 euro's!

Prince of Persia Warrior Within

My favourite turn-based 4X games are still Master of Magic, Master of Orion 2 and Alpha Centauri. Can't go wrong with those.

For Kill-Loot-Level ARPGs somebody already suggested Divine Divinity. Good game, but beware, it's easy to get soft-locked in some places.

For shooters - almost too many to recommend, from classics like Shadow Warrior or Blood to newish "retro" games like Dusk, Project Warlock or Ion Fury.
I'm narrowing my suggestions down to DOS games.

Raptor: Call of the Shadows
Excellent and fun shmup with beautiful graphics that just seem to age better over time.
Sadly GOG sells the DotEMU version which is inferior to the original DOS version.

One Must Fall 2097
IMO the best beatmup on DOS PC's, again beautiful graphics, great gameplay and music.

Wing Commander: Privateer
A classic everyone should play, great story, combat needs to get used to but is great fun.
At any rate you should get the complete Wing Commander package as most of the games are great.

Screamer (and 2)
One of the best arcade racers.... ever...

Archimedean Dynasty
Unique setting, great story, great gameplay, I just love this game.

Crusader No Remorse (and No Regret)
Absolute favorites of mine, great gameplay if you can adjust to the controls, complete with '90s campiness.

The Settlers II
Fun relaxing management game, just turn the soundvolume down because of the annoying chirping birds.

Civilization
Because of newer iterations probably not worth your time today but it was good then and it's still good now.
If you've never played a Civ game before you probably need to read the manual or some guide on the internet to get you started.

Master of Orion (and II)
For some reason I like the first more, probably because the 2nd one always hands my ass over to me.

Grand Prix (and II)
Never cared for F1 but these games are great fun.

Indycar Racing (and 2)
Never cared for Indycar but these games are great fun.

Retaliator, TFX, EF2000
Great fun flightsims when these games were still fun to play.

Red Baron, Aces of the Pacific, Aces over Europe
Great fun flightsims when these games were still fun to play.

F-19 Stealth Fighter (and 2.0), F-15E Strike Eagle II (and III), Gunship 2000
Great fun flightsims when these games were still fun to play.
