Let's say everyone has a monthly budget for video games.

Let's say most people playing video games, save on other hazardous activities, therefore, we are entitled! to this monthly budget however big this bag is.

...and let's say everyone has Income day, which could fall on any day of the month or week.

I have worked out the idea of paying my accounted by family entitlement on an income day into https://www.gog.com/en/wallet, to secure it, and buy a game/games on promotion to play it and save spare credits for the time before the next income, and in case of no money to play Demos and Free games, therefore always have titles to play.

However smart I do feel with this I want this behavior to be rewarded with 1%-5% back each month within the same wallet. Making this wallet more meaningful and extra valuable will help me to deal with my gaming habit.
And for the time of no money I need more Demos, more Free Games, and Community Giveaways to very occasionally ask for a game and give games to the community too.

What would help you best with game budgeting?

Erm,...are you asking GOG to pay you interest on your wallet?
GOG is not a bank.
If you want interest on your savings, keep your money in your bank account, until you want to buy something.

Well... Interest would be real money... I am asking for extra candy and free coffee for using Gog`s bank. To keep comming back, paying in regularly. Everyone rewarding for this, even supermarkets.

I think he is referring to a points system, you get points with every purchase then those points could be used to apply a discount to a future purchase.

You're missing the point here: GOG is NOT a bank.

Btw: the "rewards" supermarkets give to you, are paid for with your information, since they only reward you, if you have, and use, one of their Payback cards.

ZDF's (= German TV station) consumer magazine "WISO" revealed this in a 2018 report:

Quote:
"Example: Payback points:
Almost every German now has it in their wallet - the Payback card. Every time you make a purchase, you collect points that can be paid out in cash or converted into a reward.

However, the value of the rewards is often set much too high!
For example, the reporters discovered that a television is almost 40 euros cheaper in normal shops, while a navigation system is 20 euros cheaper there.

Data protectionists also criticise the detailed personality data that Payback stores.
The expert shows, for example, how easy it is to use the data to construct a meaningful personal profile including place of residence, interests, income and marital status.

The products that regularly end up in the shopping trolley are then positioned in different corners of the supermarket so that the customer can be lured by other offers on the way. A nasty scam!

Example loyalty points:
Loyalty points are another popular method of deceiving consumers. You get them when you pay at the checkout and can later choose a reward for them - but often only with an additional payment.

And the quality is often poor.
In material testing, it is noticeable that the materials and quality of the premium vary considerably from the original retail product.

Conclusion:
The ZDF documentary shows: The consumer does not always benefit from the supposed discount campaigns. In the end, according to the experts, it is better to compare the final prices." (end of quote)

I love how it could accurately be said about cloud saves, achievements, etc. ("rewards") and the GOG Galaxy client.
psychosopher, looks like you want GOG to do almost the same that Epic Store does with its coupons. But the latter one has big pile of money for compensating them to publishers, so I have a doubt that GOG will do the same (at least until it becomes relatively profitable).

Thanks! and sorry for not being clear enough. Sure. I am referring to ANY award for using https://www.gog.com/en/wallet that will help me greatly to keep paying in when I have it and use it when the moment is best. This... award... could be anything.....1-5% extra value in terms of...anything... credit, discount, points, loyalty scheme...anything....even some arts or dlc or something like that, will keep me coming back to pay into the wallet.
Without this extra something, a wallet is not that exciting.
Free games, contests, people, fun, games, and profiles keep me in this portal and it keeps me well, yet I need an extra reason to keep using my internal wallet regularly (of course it's not a bank), and this extra reason along with more Demos, Free games and Giveaways would help me best.

and.., What would help You best with game budgeting?

No, no, and again, NO!... You want shiny things ?, go find an aladdin's cave somewhere, or shave your head, and polish what's left...

Edit: And to what would possibly help towards one's monthly (or weekly) budgeting for games ?. Work overtime, ask for a pay rise, get a better paying job, organise and manage one's income better, re-evaluate your prioritiy of games vs other possibly more important financial burdens, choose a cheaper hobby...

I use the GoG wallet all the time, It's just so convenient to top-it-up every now-and-then, when money allows Then it's just a matter of clicking 'pay' when making a purchase. I have no need of financial of shiny incentives to use said wallet, and the convenience it give me is reward enough. I think I may have only ever paid once for games with my card directly.

Not really, other than the suggestions I mentioned in my 'edit' in my previous post, above...

No problem... :)
Your reward is that GOG stays up a little longer.

Can you hack a wallet to enhance it with rewards?
I think I would bend it too much marking your post as a solution...
Its like in a game https://www.gog.com/en/game/stick_it_to_the_man or https://www.gog.com/en/game/hacknet_ultimate_edition or https://www.gog.com/en/game/observer_system_redux or https://www.gog.com/en/game/do_not_feed_the_monkeys or rather https://www.gog.com/en/game/her_story, there is a game for everything.

Having a stable income.
I apologize, but is over a thousand games in your library something that budgeting has not overcome? Do you need two thousand?

My budgeting tactic is to not spend much over $20-30 a month on games. With sales this can yield several games. Funny how that amount is equivalent to two dinners at a restaurant, in my neck of the woods at least.
