I'm running macOS Catalina 10.15.4 and the latest GOG Galaxy 2.0. Every time I start GOG Galaxy I get a message from Bitdefender saying "Previously allowed application com.gog.galaxy changed its status from unisgned to Certified Apple developer." I have to enter my admin password to continue. Even if I have remember this action checked and click Continue Allowing, the same message comes up the next time I launch. I've added GOG Galaxy to my list of exceptions aas well as the application list under Anti-Ransomware.

Any idea why GOG Galaxy would be changing its status?

As well, every time I launch GOG Galaxy, it wants to install a new helper tool regardless of whether I allow it or not. I would expect that once I allow it, the helper tool would remain.

Thanks for any suggestions

Stop giving money to a company that will be nigh useless a gaming platform.

Seriously, OpenGL is getting discontinued, 32 bit cutoff, and there's word of custom metal or another CPU change in the works.
Just uninstall galaxy FTW!

Not, 'FFS!' ?. :P
If you can't contribute anything worthwhile, try just not posting. It's not like there haven't been plenty of posts here from Windows people having issues with antivirus software. I'd question whether you really need to be running that in the first place, particularly with Catalina...those annoying hoops that developers have to jump through do have some benefits. As for the helper tool, I rarely use Galaxy, but I don't want it installing extra stuff so I always decline to let it. No idea why GOG thinks it's necessary (it functions without it), or why there isn't a "no and stop bugging me" option.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried that and it makes no difference. I don't usually use GOG Galaxy to play but I need it to get to the Paradox Stellaris launcher. I can launch Stellaris directly, but not the launcher to manage DLC and mods.

You should never need a launcher for modding, let alone a client to load another client to do modding. If that is the case I would bin stellaris, claim a refund and not buy anything from that company ever again. As far as I am aware beths are the only anti modding publisher who want to drm and monetise modding, but with paradox dlc policy, I wouldn’t trust them.

You don't though. Stellaris has a bizarre file structure rather than being a standard app, but in the Stellaris folder is a executable called "dowser", which is the Paradox launcher.

It's the successor to OFS, namely an Amiga file system, and stands for Fast File System.

Interesting use of alphabetic, I.e using a letter earlier in the alphabet for a later version? I was thinking For FCKs Sake which would work, but I was trying to be positive, not my forte.

Thank you. At least I can get to the launcher directly. When I asked GOG about it, they said that they were unable to have it accessible directly on Mac, only on Windows. Now all I need to do is create an alias and launch as needed.

Unfortunately, Bitdefender still pops up, but I think it's a Bitdefender issue.

Thanks again

I can now get to the Paradox Launcher directly. While I agree with you that a separate launcher should not be needed, that's the way they've done things. Paradox actually has made it fairly easy to create mods and install them. As for Stellaris, I bought it on sale as I've never played a 4X/strategy game and wanted to try it. For me, the jury's still out.
