Do you have a two monitor configuration, Darklands and Lords of Magic:SE person?
Are they running via GOG Galaxy or via standalone GOG_installers?

Other person:
Same questions.

two monitors, Gog Galaxy right now
The two monitor setup is probably the issue. Try disconnecting the secondary monitor and re-running both games.
If nothing else, check the PCGamingWiki to see if they have any pertinent information regarding your games.

I'll try to look there, I know of at least one person with a two-monitor set-up that didn't have this problem.

Not everyone has the same exact monitor setup or runs the same applications in the same way.
Thinking that GOG galaxy is running on the secondary monitor in your setup, and therefore trying to launch the games it manages on the secondary monitor on your system. DOSBox isn't really built to support running across multiple monitors sadly.
