I didn't officially declare any boycott, I just don't really feel as good about buying stuff here as I did before. I've waited for ages for The Witcher 3 GOTY to be sold for less than 15 EUR, and when the day finally came and it was 10 EUR (best deal ever), I skipped the offer. I always wanted the Heretic and Hexen collection to be on GOG and when it got released here, and with a big discount on top of it, it would have been a no brainer to instabuy it - yet I didn't. Not to be overly dramatic, but for some reason the thought of happily buying something here now makes me feel like a spineless sucker licking the hand that hit him. It's a serious damper on any enthusiasm I might feel about releases or sales. I don't really feel respected by GOG as a customer and community member anymore the way I felt in the past, and I fear I have lost all respect I had left for GOG, too, regardless of any great achievements they might now present.
That being said, I have to admit that TW3 wouldn't run that well on my current system anyway, and I already had the Heretic and Hexen collection, so it wasn't that much of a loss. And I don't delude myself, it wasn't much of a loss for GOG either. I'm afraid I'm pretty small fry for them, with my huge collection of "have that already / don't need another game like that" and my thriftiness. A single Chinese customer probably spends more on Cyberpunk alone than I spent on GOG games during the whole last year. I think they can afford losing me as a customer, and most probably even afford the little bad rep caused by me talking to others about it. I'm not even sure if they could still do anything to repair the relation at this point. And I doubt they'd actually be interested in it. The old fanbase is probably more of a nuisance to them by now, peanuts in terms of revenue, a drag for constantly reminding them of now inconvenient principles or squatting in the outdated, unloved forums ...

I'm quite sure GOG has become what the executives ordered it to become, besides what really bothers me the most is the mistreatment of developers and the crunch culture, both things I hope GOG as a separate entity isn't guilty of.
I'm still not buying anything from here though, as I said back in the day when the usual suspects (still browsing the forums) accused me of being a GOG bootlicker, "the moment this place becomes like the other I'm criticizing, I'm out".

I still think it's a bad idea. They can't compete with Steam and Epic on their own turf. Epic was able to attack steam, because they have a huge company backing their store and are able to offer a better cut to developers and secure exclusives. GOG doesn't have that financial backing. So now that they have given up on the one thing that still made them stand out, they will always be the ugly little duckling among the game stores. They had some impressive growth in the past. But now, that they don't have any advantage over the other stores anymore, I think they will slowly fade. We'll see how they do in a few years.

I notice that the FCKdrm.com website has gone, just redirects back here. No more will Gabe stand for the DRM free movement.
Better off changing Galaxy to Hipster Steam client and be done with it.

Hello guys,
Is anyone else having issues with tickets? I have a support ticket opened for more the 3 months.
What happened to this place? Some years ago, when I opened a ticket it was a quick and very pleasant experience.
This, right now, is beyond bad.
I'm seriously considering moving my library on steam if this goes on. It won't be DRM free, sure, but at least they don't take 3 months to respond.

Oh, other 2 things that may have affected things: the CP2077 and Devotion issues happened near the holliday season, and they suffered a cyber attack

What happened to this place?
They have 'Stellar Support'(*). The next star is 4.37 light-years away. They may have their support center there so if you are lucky you will get your answer in ~8.44 years. Unless they got FTL tech in which case it could be sooner than that.
They still had a local (sun system) support center then. Good old times...
Just wait until they migrate to Andromeda galaxy... Yes - them pushing for 'Galaxy 2' isnt happenstance! (Its still in beta though.)

Not boycotting per se, but my purchases here have declined drastically these past few months.
And it's only getting worse, hooray. :/

A pity, gog Is the only platform no drm, you made it big and you are going to make it disappear.
In a way, by boycotting gog you are promoting drm.

So yeah. If GOG goes under, the "drm-free gaming party" is over. I will not touch ZOOM with a pointy stick, do not rust them A BIT. Selling delisted games is almost like acting as a warez site. WILL NEVER PAY FOR WAREZ.
But since so many people choose to "refuse to acknowledge" less popular ACTUALLY DRM-free platforms "because their catalouges are smaller" those people live in self-fulfilling prophecies.
Gee, it's almost like a certain line about "boycott being so small so I'll not join"...
I wonder what was it... /s
Dude. Congratulations :D

Worse API and vastly limited functionality compared to "competition" (Steam).
Ergo: de facto worse value for the money.
I would personally call it directly:
bribing publishers, AKA, "anti-consumer practises" (restricting availability, making the "monopoly" problem de facto WORSE).

After all, if we are supposed to believe official GOG's "many gamers" claim, GOG allegedly processed implied EXQUISITELY HIGH volume of tickets from those implied "individual(s)" in literally just few hours.
