Do you guys think GOG will ever get it's hands on it? Is there a way to get a legal digital version of it? I know it's not popular and probably won't find it's way to this site, but I can wish.
Wishing is probably about the closest thing you'll have for that game to come.
You're probably right
Wait, wait, wait... there was a Braveheart game?

<googles it>

Ok, how have I not known about it? I mean yeah, it looks like it sucks, but still- there was a Braveheart game! How surreal is that? It's almost as good as that "Maximus as an immortal soldier in Vietnam" Gladiator sequel that never got made!

It wasn't that bad in my opinion. It's just hella buggy and they never fixed it. If they would've released it just a few months later then they did back in the late 90's or just continued to patch it etc. it would have been epic. Uniting Scotland to invade England, what an awesome thing.

It's still very playable as is. I may just grab the disc off of Amazon lol
It had a lot of things going for it. It had resources like a popular village building game whose name I can't remember. Lots of resources. And if had neat raids. It was also horrendously, unplayable with bugs galore. I still really enjoyed it. But I like games that suck.

Very true. If a game came out today that had all of what was going on in this; I'd jump on it immediately. The differing personalities of the various Scottish Clans at the beginning was something I enjoyed very much.

One can hope.
Amazon has it for sale. I doubt it will run on newer windows it maybe! It's cheap enough to try. Perhaps I can get it running on Wine.
Very strong chance the disc will never work on windows 10, right? This game should get a re-do. Someone should make a modern version of it. That would be beyond awesome!

Sounds like a job for "Good old Games", too bad they're now just GOG.

Is there any game that is similar to this one. I've played CK2 and most nation building games but is there something even closer to something like this?

I'm really hoping they release soon! I put so many hours into that game. More than Castles and Castles 2
Is this the game where the protagonist dies at the end shouting "DRM FREEEEDOOOOM!"?
In the game William Wallace flies around in a jet and fights aliens, which makes it infinitely more historically accurate than the movie.
