Palestine: I prefer the endearingly wholesome version of GOG-chan from the 2022 Moon Festival Sale (July 8th - July 16th):

SultanOfSuave: Oh, hey, I didn't notice that one at the time; and it's pretty fitting for "Good Old Games" (no longer), given the intentionally older drawing style.
This! Really loved it too.
More clothes than on her initial design are also preferable. lol

I don't know what would work more as a promotional/marketing tool though.
If this classic-anime-like or a more, uh, 'swag' design.

Personally, but as with most opinions, they're subjective, I'd love to see her present in every promotion, sale, date with this classic anime like design, Neon Genesis Evangelion-eske (image attached), changing bits of design based on specific dates or sales themes. :)

"NGE" "Classic".

Golly, you sure do know how to make someone who most recently watched (most of) the original Mobile Suit Gundam Universal Century turn into a cloud of dust vaguely in the shape of a skeleton. Is this a serious version of that memetic image, where the oldest game listed is Portal? Is Lupin III (Green Jacket) just a flickering shadow on the wall of a cave?

Meh, I don't know what the current fad about people (started with women but now everyone seems to be affected) having to look dumb is about (perfectly illustrated by the Rotating Sale image, where really all pictured people look like they left at least half a brain at home). Except maybe for the blood demon or whatever that is.
Granted, GOG-Chan doesn't exactly look like female Einstein either, but at least like maybe she would be able to spell her name without too many errors.
Also, she doesn't look like someone whacked her over the face with a baseball bat as a baby. ;) But Miss Sale got those oversized anime-eyes more than the actual anime girl...

Both could however carry around a powerbank for their mobile consoles inside their hairdos, which is kind of smart I guess. Maybe even an entire console. :D

That said, I don't care enough to care. :)

You're just being grumpy my mate, its semantics. :P

But yeah... what is 'classic' for gen X will not be a 'classic' for gen Z.
Same way, what we nowadays call "Classical Music" are musics composed through a time frame of 700 years, even though this is wrong in a correct definition sense, or, going further, that Bach's compositions were not instantly "Classics" for him or people from that time. It was most probably just "Music".

Once again, we would be arguing about the definition of "Classical" and "Classic", an expression that some use today to define things as "Instant Classic!", without it being, uh, classical or any kind of proof that 1500 years in the future people would even remember said production as "Classic".

Anyway, for the sake of being intellectually honest, though, I will correct myself, then:

"I like the specificities of anime design present in Neon Genesis Evangelion, a classic anime for those that were born in the 80's or 90's, therefore, Miss GOG-Chan having a style which resembles that of those present in the 'animes' of that time, are fairly enjoyable to millenials that enjoy some of the animes of that era."

To be even more fairer, this design resembles Dragon Ball more than Evangelion, or, even better, Studio Gibbli designs...

...which I also enjoy :D
It seems to me GOG graphics design team enjoy Ghibli a lot too. :)

Personally... in the style of "Noriko Takaya" from "Gunbuster" is something I would think fitting. They could even have a little fun with it, as you suggest, and alter it based on the sales theme. I would even endorse a variant of "Joe" from "Ashita no Joe (2)" as a representing figurehead.

Gosh! I didn't think you'd still be afflicted by the very human curse of caring about the opinions of others; how they view and represent that which brings you personal joy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXk7VH_2g9Y
