Pretty much as title. I've been looking to buy a specific TV show (Highway Thru Hell seasons 1 to 4) but can only find seasons of it on iTunes in the US. Seeing that I'm in Japan, I'd probably have to try finding some iTunes US gift cards to buy it which would push the price up and possible not even work.

Thus my question. I know that songs can be gifted, but is it possible to do the same for complete TV seasons too? If so that would make it easier (and possibly a little cheaper) to get the show.

Do note that I am talking about gifting to another account set up for use with the US store, so cross-region gifting won't be an issue.

Things were so much easier when companies sold their shows on DVD =/

According to this link from the Apple Online Store, you can gift TV shows, as well as audiobooks, movies or apps, so it's not just music. You should be able to get the show whether it is available in complete seasons or individual episodes.

Thanks. Hopefully the FAQ is correct and not of date when I can afford to get these!
Maybe you can try to convert these TV seasons to common format. Then you can enjoy it on any devices freely. No matter US or Japan. As we know, iTunes videos are encrypted with DRM protection, it can be played on Apple devices only. So you need a DRM removal tool to crack DRM protection at first. As for me, Tuneskit DRM Media Converter is the best choice. It works faster and better to keep lossless quality. You can check more info on Tuneskit. Wish this tip is helpful to you.
The answer must be yes, and you can gift TV shows to your family or friends via email and you can set the send date and write some words for them. Is it really a convenient way to give some surprise.
When you gift some TV shows, don't want to take DRmare M4V Converter (drmare.com), which can help your loved one to remove DRM from iTunes TV shows, and then they can enjoy iTunes TV shows at any devices or TVs.

yep, you can buy the TV shows as a gift for your friends. However, when you buy a gift, you can't enjoy the TV shows by yourself. There is another better way though. You might buy them for yourself and then use a software like DRmare M4V Converter to help you strip the DRM. After that, you should be able to share them everywhere. It is totally illegal as long as it is not for commercial use, I done that time from time.
