The news says FREE until January 20, 2PM UTC. It's 2:24 PM UTC according to Google, you're too late I'm afraid...

You can try contacting staff via a support ticket, politely explain the situation and see if they can offer you a key.

https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Or you can just wait a few days and check one of the many giveaway threads that will pop up offering the key

Hope this helps

edit: As an suggestion, if you're asking a question about a specific offering like this giveaway, it's best to post in the thread about the offer and not create a new thread. That thread is being monitored by staff and may have gotten a response from them. Most support forums operate in such a manner:

This game is new to GOG, so free keys will not appear very soon.

I was kind of wondering about that considering the recent thread about how folks don;t take all of the free games which appeared at the same time as this one:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/free_games_am_i_alone_in_not_partaking

And I believe a few folks said that they were going to pass on this as well:

Maybe the ticket to support then would be the best bet to handle this.
Since it wasn't automatically added to people's accounts but instead a key was sent, there might be people out there who don't want it...

No key sent, it's just added to the account as soon as you click to claim it.

Must've mixed it up with a different recent giveaway then...
I want to see the email. If it's legit he has GOG dead to rights.

As far as I know the GOG emails are not signed. So there's no way to know that I didn't tamper with the message.

As you can see, it says "giveaway lasts until January 20, 3 pm UTC".

That's, what, 10 am EST?

GOG usually have their newsletters on their webseite for clients whose mail clients only do text so everybody can look up the mail [url=http://www.gog.com/newsletter/20180118 _weekly _sale_EN]here[/url] and indeed it says 3PM UTC.

However, the giveaway was only supposed to run until 2PM UTC which the release news clearly states.

So most likely support will only say: "Sorry, 3PM was a mistake the giveaway only ran until 2PM." and that's it.

Edit: Looks like the url tag doesn't like spaces in the URL but they need to be there. Just cut and paste the URL into the address bar of your browser.

OP's right. GOG fucked up (again).
EDIT: Ninja'd a couple times. Need to read threads more thoroughly before I post. :P
