They should send Netflix a "Thank You" card... ;-)
I'm in a few Witcher fb groups, and they're full of new people asking about Witcher 3...
I think all money from Wicher 3,2,1 etc, which was sold on GOG, has been send to CD project RED directly. GOG does not participate for this.
So... Is GOG dead yet? :-P

Why should they not benefit from their own services? Especcially as their cut is much higher than from sales at other stores.

Ofcourse GoG is part of CD Projekt. But games belong to CD Projekt RED.Look for CD Project REd profit...ITs huge.

It seems to not be very profitable or growing, but at least not loosing a lot of money either. For many years now, business for GOG is rather stagnating, I think.

In terms of investment returns it might not be a great thing, but the mother company CDP is doing well and with the new RPG maybe even better. As long as CDP decides it wants to keep GOG...

That would just be an accounting trick. Basically it doesn't matter which subunit of a company accounts for revenues and which for the expenses, because in the end everything is added together anyway.

CDP RED new strategy... Change company logo for LGBT....
I do wonder how well Cyberpunk 2077 will sell on GOG, especially since it'll be DRM-FREE here.
And since it might be one of the biggest and most anticipated games of the upcoming next-gen platforms.

It'll sell better on Steam, sadly. But hopefully does well here. Either way, its money in their pocket.

So the take away is that GOG.com saw a 45% surge in sales in the 1st quarter of 2020 with revenue adjusted of just over 12 million us dollars. Looking at page 27 it appears that revenue was a total of 33767 but on page 40 it shows a revenue of around 45000 Page 26 gave a revenue of 48993. The net profit on page 26 was 3435 and after tax was 1921. Page 27 stated the the shows a net loss of 1769 after tax a net loss of 1520
CD Projekt released its report about the first half of 2020 last week:
- subsidiary Spokko studio announced mobile augmented reality game The Witcher: Monster Slayer
- revenue in H1 +~69%, profit +73%
- pay day for the board members, or better: because the company reached the goals, they got stock bonuses worth up to ~80m € (for the last 3 years?)
- about new games to develop: "We have a lot of ideas which await implementation."

GOG:
- highest headcount growth in CDP group (+13%); expansion seems to have been slowed (3% more employees across the board - is the next project in an early stage? On the other hand office space expanding)
- revenue distribution only changed by one percentage point max
- sales in H1 +~35% compared to 2019H1, profit +~44%

The-Business: mobile augmented reality game The Witcher: Monster Slayer
They're really milking it... Well, if all that crap helps finance that one awesome DRM-free AAA game every 3-5 years...
