No cloud saves without Galaxy.
If you want Cloud Saves, then you have to use Galaxy. That's one of the reasons why way more of GOG customers use Galaxy than don't (GOG employees admitted that in a documentary a couple of years ago).
Yes, unfortunately if u 1 cloud saves u hv 2 use Galaxy. However, u still hv the option 2 download offline installers to install & play w/o using Galaxy if u dun wish 2 use it & save games locally on ur hard drive if the game has save point/slots.

Yes, you have to use the “optional” client.

There is another, better way though. Use a new cutting edge technology called copy and paste. You can move the save files freely, pop them on a nas for instance, keep as many copies as you want, all totally drm free and fully under your control, exactly how drm free gaming should be. No data capture, no dodgy client links, no third party control, no restrictions.

this is my very first post i believe so i didnt know
but do i have to reinstall the games i have or can i just linked them in galaxy
Install Galaxy. There is some function inside it to scan and import games into it. Remember that NOT ALL GAMES COME WITH CLOUD SAVES!

A Galaxy user can hopefully help you as to what it is called and where to find it. No Galaxy for Linux.
