Oh my, definitely didnt expect THIS here! This looks very promising, played Demo on Steam... but. I saw somewhere it has Denuvo, no? So I guess either they drop Denuvo or we re gonna w8 for it...

----- edit: checked Steam, no mention of Denuvo, so perhaps we can look forward to this gem, in the foreseeable future :)
this will most likely be a day 1 purchase from me. Awwwww

Per an official announcement two weeks ago any and all DRM seems to have been dropped.

Except the mandatory DRM for the license over on the other platform, of course.

Man, they really had my attention until "MASTER SOULSLIKE COMBAT". Now it is just a wait and see and maybe check it out far in the future. (A demo here would be nice, but I guess it doesn't really matter since my computer couldn't run it anyway.)
Nice! An other less game on my Steam wishlist. Thanks GOG and devs!

Same. I thought it looks kind of like a dark mirror of Trine (ok, not nearly quite as good looking, but in the same ballpark) which immediately got my attention. But apparently it's someone else's attention they actually want.

dodge, parry, and strike with perfect timing to avoid a pitiful fate
A sad giant red flag. I'm so sick of that in games. Especially since they super focus on the "perfect timing" part. They are usually crafted so that "perfect timing" is the only thing that matters in the game, no matter what skills, built, or techniques you try to do -- basically invalidating 3/4 of their efforts designing the game. Parries should be one possible technique available in the suite of tools, not something that's deeply required in every encounter constantly.

It's also a skill a lot of people will never be able to hone because it's a physical reflex/talent that's hard to impossible to train... So it's a huge filter for the game. Let people who have it gloriously swing into it. But don't make it the everything and anything to the title.

ASIDE from that, everything else about this has me pumped and excited! Could be great if they don't botch it like so many titles have.

That looks interesting. I guess I will have to try the demo first though.

I hate it too, but I just downed a boss with it after fighting him about sixty times last night. It feels cheap that you have to do this all the time now in these games. This is one of the big ones so I'm looking forward to it and glad to see it here. But yeah, it's parry/parry all the way again. Seems that's all these devs know how to do.

Yeah, the whole of the community. I'm in a big social media group for MV and though your comments are echoed by some of us, most people in this community love the Soulslike approach to these games. There's no drowning them out. This is the trend and it all started with Hollow Knight.

Huh, weird. I loved Hollow Knight (but never did all that irritating superboss sequence, or finish the circus bit...). I never once felt, "soulslike!" while playing. Not a single time.

It's funny but this is exactly what makes me throw it off my wishlist ^^

Pfft. Hollow Knight may have its challenges with some of its bosses, but it never pretends to be a "souls-like". That 'genre' doesn't do squat for me. "Look, we cranked up fighting difficulty up to 11 just because!" typically doesn't make for fun games, as far as I'm concerned.
I'd say wait before assuming alot of games throw that term out now and it holds little weight. The term is used so much people assume the game is to hard if it has any form of stamina management.

Thing is any game that's challenging is called a soulslike. It's why I'm sick of the term games can be challenging in different ways.
