M4rk_B: Do I need any reason to request a refund and just forget the whole GOG thing?
AB2012: What speeds do you get for the offline installers (non Galaxy)?
I haven't tried that route, I suppose I should. I only went with Galaxy because it says it auto-updates the games
wolfsite: Checked my downloads and they are fine so I can only suggest trying the offline installers from the browser. Many websites can get hit with DL due to demand on the servers, you could send in a ticket to customer support to see if they have any other suggestions to improve performance. Another option is to wait an hour or two to see if the issue clears up on it's own.
If you are on Linux you could try a different client like Lutris or Mini Galaxy.
Seems offline installlers are the way to go then, I'll give that a go.
Radiance1979: 71 down, 7,1 Mb you mean? and only gog.... UK .....10 GB an hour, in all honesty i do between 15 and 18 gb an hour either on steam, ea or og .. 20 if i'm lucky.... i did notice a lot of trouble when i try to download offline installers from the site with continu errors though this might have something to do with firefox.. i wouldn't refund for 10 gb but i would refrain from buying checking now and then to see if the problem resolves its self... there are enough unused mornings or ocasions i go away from home for several hours ;) and with either windows sleep mode or another program where you can set the time for the pc to go to sleep i don;t have to worry with the pc being online all day unattended.
once downloaded you can move files around very easily ( just swap the directory to another drive ) so this would mean you don't have to download again once it is on your pc. it does mean you will need sufficient space available
Aye, at these speeds it would seem unattended downloading would be the way to go. Thanks for the heads-up about moving the directory. I guess i'll persevere for the time being (he said..tapping foot impatiently)
