I don't know why, but now I always get these popups in the corner about cookies, and if I uncheck the marketing and anything non-essential, the next time they're always checked again! Respect privacy, GOG!!!

Your cookie settings are stored in a cookie. So if you block cookies or clear them on exit, you'll see the prompt repeatedly. Presumably the settings aren't in the account's privacy section for example, because cookie use applies even if you're not logged in.

I suggest using NoScript or something that does blocking... I use it innately and only disable temporarily if i have to.

Yeah. It's kind of catch 22. Without allowing the opt-out-of-cookies cookie, the next time you visit, they will be reset to default. You'll have to figure a way to keep the cookies you want and reject the cookies you don't.

Personally, I use DDG Privacy essentials, Google Analytics blocker, uBlock Origin and AdBlocker for YouTube. (Firefox extensions.) Right with you brother.

In my childhood, cookies used to mean something completely different than they do today. We had chocolate chip cookies, orange jam cookies, plain oat cookies etc. We didn't block them, we ate them.

I've received a mail about a change in cookie handling policy. It's not very long.

However something's amiss here: the mentionned "Cookie Declaration tool from the footnote" is ineffective. The only thing that's blocked for me (by µMatrix in Firefox dev ed) is google tag manager. The other links in the footer (legal, privacy policy, thanks and imprint) do lead to other pages.

Same here. If I click on "Cookie Declaration" in the footnote nothing happens, other things there work. It's not any of my addons because I tried with all of them disabled and with other browsers too.

If you want more control over web content, I suggest using uMatrix instead.

The reason I allow XHR for notifications-pusher.gog.com is because it doesn't degrade gracefully if it's blocked and will spam a ridiculous number of requests to the point where it could be considered a memory leak.

Cookie Declaration at the bottom of the page works if you go to the homepage, as pointed out by soosgjr.
