Howdy, short question.

Ami missing something or keyboard controls customisation is not a thing in the remaster?

Thanks for any info in advance!

Xeshra: Textures are not the only data with big sizes: It could as well affect video or music data files, as they all are capable to use lot of space dependable on quality and length.
Yes, but textures are the most common culprit. With video, depends how heavy on those the game is. And music, I don't remember any game where music took GBs of space.

The brazilian real price is way too high, should have been half this price.
Really happy to see this. Can't post a review of the game for some reason so will just make a comment here. I get the objections to the £30 launch price, and it will probably put some people off (at least until it eventually gets discounted or goes on sale). For me though, I'm happy to pay a premium to support Argonaut, who unexpectedly remastered a game that was a big slice of my childhood (and honestly that's who they're aiming this at anyway - 90s kids who grew up and got jobs and can probably find 30 quid for a nostalgia hit). As a remaster in its own right, I think they've done an incredible job bringing a 30 year old game into the modern day, because it looks and feels exactly like it did before. Definitely encourage anyone curious or nostalgic to give it a go.

Apparently not, no. This game CAN be played with the keyboard but you can't change the bindings. You move around with the arrow keys, jump with the space bar and attack with the ctrl key.

For a remaster in 2025 they really should've added mouse controls too. Not everything has to be classic...

Hey there - unfortunately you're not mistaken:
Currently only the original game supports keyboard customization.

Folks have noted this in the game's forum as well:
https://www.gog.com/forum/croc_legend_of_the_gobbos

Here's hoping for a fix - it is a strange omission in any case.

Additionally, if you use keyboard controls only tank controls are available - not the modern controls that are apparently more fluid and spoken of in the trailer.
I have a DS4 controller right here, but.. it IS a PC game after all.

Other annoyances:
- unskippable logos with sound at launch - the usual tricks of just renaming/removing/replacing the video files crash the game (skipping is possible in the original game)
- no language selection at all - for me the game is always in German, did not found a way to edit that so far, I tried
- there is a jukebox in the main menu to listen to the admittedly good soundtrack - however, it is way quieter than all the other music in-game for some reason

Those things were already reported in the game forum mentioned above and I hope that the developer is checking GOG's forum as well.
I'll see what the first patch brings as I imagine the developer is already busy with gathering feedback at the moment.
If it stays that way I guess I contact the developer directly to ask for a fix.

Have to say I was still surprised to see those basic things missing at that price point and with the huge delay and all.
Fingers crossed it will become awesome.

Thank you for answering. Little disappointing that such features are missing.

Thank you for assisting. Quite disappointing since as you mentioned the original has keyboard binding customisation.

P.s. i suspect the game language depends on your os default language. So perhaps if one changes the os language to English, the game will be in English. Just speculation.

Yeah, I suspect it reads the native language of the operating system, but changing that is too much of a hassle for this minor annoyance.
There is a language selector included with most games - they should be using that instead.

This is less about me needing to play in English(there is barely any dialogue anyway), but it shows a lack of care.
Store page even says only English text is available - it just appears to be an oversight that could have been easily avoided.

Thanks for the suggestion in any case.

Yeah, it is. For a huge remaster in 2025 it should've had at least a keybinding menu...
When it comes to the filesize, it appears that the game itself is only 10GB (the "remaster" folder), whereas the Crocipedia is taking up 20GB with all the 4K videos and other numerous files, oops!

I think this probably should have been decoupled as an extra download so people aren't led to believe the game is really badly optimised for size, and also so people don't have to make 30GB of space just to install the game, of course!

The remaster itself seems pretty solid however, the new control scheme makes the game a blast to play, but I have to admit I'm not sure about the pricetag either, although the Crocipedia is most certainly very high quality/effort, which was surprising to see.

This finally makes sense! The large size was a turn off for me, but now this means it could be easily fixed. We all know how the Extras/Goodies system works on GOG, but worth sharing here as a reference for the devs if they're looking here.
