EDIT: Closed. Winners: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/cute_giveaway/post43

I'm handing out a few keys for the following titles:

The Expression Amrilato (17 keys)

This is undeniably the sweetest thing on GOG. 5/5 (EDIT: this is also pretty much what inspired me to run this giveaway. I like it so much. I hope you'll like it too)

I'd consider it a medium-length VN; one weekend should suffice for a playthrough, unless you get bogged down by chores, in which case it might take a few extra evenings. The story isn't very branchy. There are a few choices you can make, and some of them will affect the ending (I hope you find a happy one!).

Most interestingly, this game encourages you to learn some Esperanto. It doesn't exactly force you to, and indeed you can disable some language challenges in settings, but I think the experience will be much more fulfilling if you make the effort to learn some. Things starts out pretty easy, but mid-to-late story dumps quite a bit of grammar (which you don't need to fully internalize to enjoy the story). Either way, despite the lack of story branchiness, a second (or even third) playthrough will be quite rewarding as you will be able to understand some of the speech that you probably could not on the first playthrough (unless you already knew Esperanto).

If you do not wish to learn the language, you can still enable translations after the first playthrough.

I'm only left wishing for a sequel that builds upon the basics I learned.

Mhakna Gramura and Fairy Bell (7 keys)

Just look at that art! It is 5/5 adorable. As for the story... well, it has some dark themes that do not make me comfortable, but the sweet visuals make up for it. Also, this one is pretty short for a kinetic novel; it took me around 90 minutes to read through. I don't consider that a bad thing; the novel appreciates my time and doesn't drag on. In fact, I kinda like it because it is difficult for me to find enough time to focus on longer games (and dropping them due to lack of time halfway in is kinda depressing).

Da Capo 3 R (7 keys)

Is it just harem? No, I would not say it is. There's plenty of interesting characters to spend time with; the story is really quite branchy in that regard, as you regularly get to choose where to go or who to meet (or call). Each character has their personal story, but for obvious reasons you cannot learn about them all in one playthrough. I've only played through it once, which means I haven't even seen the true ending yet (which AIUI isn't unlocked before you've played at least once). All that makes it a fairly long VN, and there's plenty of cute innit. Still not sure how I want to rate this one, but it really is good.

(Please GOG, bring us the other Da Capo titles too)

Kindred Spirits on the Roof (7 keys)

I don't know anything about this one, in fact. I just threw it in because it looked lonely with only three titles.

====

This giveaway is open to anyone who's had a GOG account prior to 2019 and is not on a list of known scammers.

You can only enter for yourself; please list all the titles you wish to be in for, in order of preference. Also, I would appreciate it if you only list titles that you actually wish to play (soon) instead of just hoarding for the sake of hoarding games.

This is optional, but if you wish to increase your chances of winning: post something cute. It can be a song, a drawing, a video, a poem, a short novel, a photo (of yourself?!), tinyE, donkeys, crows, rabbits... feel free to use your imagination. Images can be posted as attachments, but if you post a link, make sure it's one we can all follow and view without requiring accounts on third party services. Anyone who posts something cute will double their chances of winning (that is, their name will be included twice in the hat when I draw random winners). Also, the cutest submission (by my subjective judgement) will automatically win their most preferred game, and get their post marked as the solution to this thread. :)

Giveaway is open for at least two weeks. I will extend the deadline if there's not enough participation. (Please ping me if I forget; I am forgetful; I am sorry)

Winners will receive their keys via private message in chat, so please make sure that you allow chat messages from everybody (Privacy & Settings -> Privacy -> Allow Chat Messages From). If I cannot reach you, someone else will get the key. Also, I expect you to redeem the keys you received within a couple weeks of receiving them. If not redeemed, I might pass the keys to someone else. I will announce winners in the thread after I've sent keys.

Good luck.

Not in but thanks for the give away but thanks for your generosity.
In for Kindred Spirits on the Roof, which has been on my wishlist for a few months. As for my cute thing: I give you my son holding my finger on the day of his birth.

[EDIT: I knew I had to downsample that.]

I'm desperanto to learn some esperanto. That could be a new experience in a lesbian/gay visual novel. =P

So i'm in for The Expression Amrilato. Haven't really played visual novels but eventually in this life I'm going to get Steins gate so maybe this could be a sort of stepping stone.

That inspired me to tell about a cute moment in my life..

I have never had a cat (due to allergies). However, I spent some 10 months of my life in a monastery. One of the monks had cats, some visitors also had cats. Sometimes a cat owner would leave me in charge of feeding & playing with the cats for a few days, and chasing them down the hallways as they inevitably tried to escape as soon as I tried to get in their room. Sometimes I was holding their paws to help with tick removal and such.

One cold night (around -30degC by my estimate), when I'd already turned in, I heard meowing and scratching at my door. Ah, someone had let a cat in so it doesn't freeze. Nothing unusual about that. The unusual thing was that it came to my door.

So I got up and opened the door. Cat walked in and stood next to my mattress (my bed was disassembled so I just had a mattress on the floor), staring at me. "I don't know what you want but I don't have any snacks and I gotta sleep," is what I thought, and went back to sleep after some pettings. Kitty curled up next to me and slept by my side.

Next morning I woke up to a cat standing on my chest, licking my eyes open.

Aww. I love cats. I just wish our landlord would let us keep pets at home.

When I was younger, our kitten would often come into my room and sleep on the bed with me. She's a lot bigger now, but if she sees me (once every few years) she still craves affection.

Monastery? That's insane. Especially that now I see that you are from Finland. =P

Cats can be a cure or a curse.
Nice giveaway clarry.

Despite being a big fan of Da Capo anime, I'd like to be in for The Expression Amrilato, thank you.

edit: full name of the image should be - me at the end of the week" ;)
