Is it a new feature? Because I only saw Kathy Rain Demo and Shadwen Demo (removed) since the day I joined GOG. Any official announcements/news about demo versions?

Thanks.

No general announcement saying, "We are now carrying game demos!", if that's what you mean. Just the Shadwen demo contest announcement, and more recently the update to the Kathy Rain pre-order announcement thread that mentioned the later-added demo.

They call it InDev here.

I assume it's up to the developers if they want to add a demo?

i guess so, thats why i googled, unfortunately i only found an old topic, 3 years old or so.

i made a screenshot of one reply that showed that finally at least one user had the guts to tell why the devs wont release the demos anymore, and if they do they do it after the big money is in.

Some will say its because of the costs, and more bla bla bla ....
some are paranoid and talked about the fact that usually the demos had no DRM....
and more nonsense like that.
Imho i think its because of money :D

One replied mentioned that because of the lack of good playable demo he would keep the max price for a game he'd buy to 20 dollars.

If a game is 5 euros listprice and it looks okay, i saw some movies then i will take a gamble and buy it, but the higher the price, the more i need a playable demo (no running demo's like they used to release lateron, cause thats same as watching a video)

Anyway thats the reason that steam is 'shitty' and has many shitty 1 euro games, cause at 1 euro i am willing to take a risk but when the price goes to 5 euros, i draw the line. cause then i will need a decent playable demo, even if i had a gazillion euro's i'd still be thinking that way, money will never change my buying habbit, low prices might, cause 10 cents for a game? i'd buy 20 of these :D and maybe i have 1 decent game :D

I really hope GOG will add more demos. They can help determine if the game is compatible with their machine.
