We have released an update!
This is a security focused release for DOSBox 0.74:

- Fixed that a very long line inside a bat file would overflow the parsing buffer. (CVE-2019-7165 by Alexandre Bartel)
- Added a basic permission system so that a program running inside DOSBox can't access the contents of /proc (e.g. /proc/self/mem) when / or /proc were (to be) mounted. (CVE-2019-12594 by Alexandre Bartel)
- Several other fixes for out of bounds access and buffer overflows.
- Some fixes to the OpenGL rendering.

The game compatibility and functionality should be identical to 0.74 and 0.74-2.

Ideally, 0.75 should have been released by now, but some bugs took a lot longer than expected.

for FulVal: The scan3x change is in there as well

That's nice. Does it have touchscreen support yet?
Thank you!
Tons of updates in gog galaxy incoming?

Qbix: Qbix...
Will 0.75 have more scaling options ? In 0.74 you can set the scaling factor to 3x, but with screens having higher resolutions now there should be an option for 4x, 5x, etc...

Kick ass, I was having some real problems integrating that with d-fend reloaded had to use daums fork and it wasn't pretty.

Could you ask Alexander Herzog to work in with you (if his still alive) to make d-fend reloaded more compatible with the glide side of things in the new iteration of Dosbox get the Pentium MMX stuff updated and everything so I don't have to screw around with settings manually and screw things up (which I always do.)

Good question
I really hope for additional disk image types support, floppies/discs swapping, vertical sync, Adlib Gold & Sound Blaster Pro 2.0 compatibility, and maybe some kind of front end. I don't like DOSBox clones and shells for some reason.

P.S. DOS Glide and Pentium MMX instructions would be nice as well ;)

Based DOSBox, I don't think I would have the will to keep on living without it and ScummVM.
I tend to not answer questions about features of the next release, as this topic is about the current release, but let me answer this one:

The plan is to make the scaling a bit more intuitive/easier to configure and allow for larger sizes.

So will all GOG games with dosbox be updated with the new version or 0.75 when it comes out?

Also when will 0.75 be coming out, estimated?(This year/next year/etc)

Also also: Should those of us with older dosbox versions swap out the old versions in our games when it(0,75) comes out?
nice always good to see that dosbox keeps getting developed improved and is kept "safe"

Just don't make the same mistake like in latest version of ScummVM where they made it so "intuitive" that they disabled any user control. In fullscreen mode instead of using pixel perfect scaling like 2x, 3x... they instead stretch the image to fit the screen.

Let's say you have a game at 640x480, for pixel perfect scaling on a 1920x1080 monitor you want to use 2x scaling factor and have the game run at 1280x960, centered with black bars. In ScummVM the game is now stretched to 1440x1080 which makes random pixels bigger than others and it distorts the original pixel art. Changing the configuration file to 2x has no effect anymore for fullscreen. Average Joe may not notice this, but you can bet me and others will.

Another problem with this are games that run in very small resolution like 320x200, stretching that pixel art over the whole monitor just looks ugly in my opinion, so I play those games at only 640x400 or 960x600.

TLDR: Please, just don't limit the user control of configuration files.
