kohlrak: What about X? It's lacking in TES style quests, but there's some stuff there. Also, there's Wing Commander: Privateer.
I know about both series, and while I'm sure they're great, I have no nostalgia for them. I also missed the hype around their release, which would have more easily got me into a genre I'm not all that comfortable with. I find it hard to start a new game, when I'm not all too familiar with it's genre, which is why I mostly stick with turn-based games.
EDIT: For example, personally, I have only ever played Monkey Island 3 and Project Journeyman, so I can't get into other adventure games. I used to watch my brother play them, but I just can't seem to muster the motivation to start another adventure game. I can't even play the prequels/sequels to these two games I played and enjoyed immensely.
I mentioned Starfield, because its a Bethesda game, and I expect it to follow their typical game design, which I find engaging. But don't reskin Oblivion with Fallout-ish textures and call it an RPG sequel. If only they were to have named it something else, like it was the case with Fallout Tactics, I might have enjoyed "Fallout 3" so much more.
