Hello!
I always bought my games, if possible, on steam so that I could keep the amount of different gaming platforms low. Unfortunately, because of that, I did not realize for a long time that GOG even existed. Now I thought about having all my CD Projekt RED titels in GOG, because of reasons (sympathy, support and stuff like that. You know.). And also to buy future tiles in GOG like this colorful Cyberthingy with John Wick.
I searched out of curiosity for a possibility of transfering my "Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition", "Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition" and "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY Edition" to GOG. It seems like there is connect system between steam and GOG but it only works temporary and with selected titels. Some other thread wrote about the possibility of transfering Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 to GOG without the connect system, but Witcher 3 has to be bought again. If this would work I would probably buy it a second time... sure.
But one of my biggest concerns are the achievments I did. I did every single achievment in Witcher 2 and 3. Witcher 1 did not have any. Even if I manage to transfer Witcher 1 and 2, it seems like there is no possibility of also transfering the Witcher 2 achivements to GOG, since they seem to be platform bound if I read right in some threads. And that bothers me a lot since the time invested was massive.
I thought about the option of copying my steam savegames from Witcher 2 and 3 to the GOG versions. I read that this is possible. My thought now is if I copy the savegames where everything is done, will the achievments maybe pop up automatically in GOG? Has someone maybe tested this?
And can someone confirm that this transfering still works? Or am I totally wrong?
Best Regards,
