Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to know if a game actually has controller support? I have bought 7 games now all with the tag controller support in the store but none of which work with controllers. Is there something I am missing?

Which games, and which controller do you have?

The controller support in PC gaming is maybe a bit messy especially if you count in older DirectInput-era releases as well.

I’m on a ROG Ally so it registers as an Xbox controller.

Games I have tried are

Almastriga
Dungeon Vixens
Blades of time
Two worlds 2
X blades
Bloodrayne 1&2 terminal

Some games do work like Noita and metal slug.

Most anything from 2006 onward should know what an Xbox controller is. (In the modern sense.) Anything before that, is gonna be a bit tricky.

I think the best place to check for game-specific information like that is on PCGamingWiki.

I’m afraid I must eat crow on this one. If anyone in the future has trouble on the ROG Ally make sure you have Embedded Controller enabled. It was an error on my behalf. I appreciate the help regardless.

If it is a port from any console, it should have controller support. But will it work with one? Well....Best to write a list and ask here for each game, if folks can confirm actual use and provide the controller they confirm it with too.

Maybe we should start a thread specifically for confirmed controller supported games. Keeping a 1st post list, with confirmed controllers each game works with.

all work with controllers, I can confirm. This is a configuration problem with you ROG Ally, not a GOG issue.

That would be a long list. Almost all of my games on GoG work with my controllers. Some games just don't play too well with them (like FPS, RTS and adventures)...

This forum is already chockful to overflowing with neverending spam threads (like 'forum games'); no need to add another useless thread on top of all that.

Every game that works with controllers is already clearly marked on the GOG store pages for those games, with the feature "Controller support" listed in the "Features" section.

And games that don't have that listed as a Feature, they don't work with Controllers.
